Hummer H4 to compete with Wrangler?
Has anyone heard of this vehicle? It is supposed to be unveiled at the Detroit auto show. It is supposed to be a direct competitor of the wrangler, not sure if it will have a removable roof or not.

The rumors have been around for a while now. Some of the online mags like autoweek seem to be confirming that a concept version will be shown in Detroit and in production around 2009-2010.

And where are the head rests?
and look at that bumper. They styled it after the European wranglers, i.e. how it connects to the flares.
That's way too wide, it'll never compete.

I'm going to have to agree with Dutch on this one.
I don't dislike Hummers as much as some, so i am not biased by that. I think as a concept it isn't so bad, the real test will be in how it performs. The only thing i am loyal to in brand is my US dollar. Do not get me wrong, i love my Jeep, i cant see ever not having one; but if it didnt do what i want/need it to do, it would get the heave-ho in short order.
A lot of ugly can be overcome by performance. I mean really, for many months i read how the JK was to wide & to weak and blah blah blah... for any serious offroading, but after all the innitial whining/complaining/tooth pulling changes, everyone seems to love the thing, and DC can't build them fast enough, AND people want to make it even WIDER with wheel spacers & wider tires & 8-10" rims. Exactly the same thing I would guess more than a few of them swore where the downside of the thing a year ago.
I welcome the competition, it can only make DC step up to the plate even more!
