I completely agree, a real throttle cable is so much better. I am on my way out the door I will double check on throttle response. I was too concerned about my engine RPM to notice anything else.

Default throttle response w/ HT programmer

Was thinking about getting a Hypertech programmer but had a few questions:
1) is it now working for everyone or are there still program problems?
2) does it get rid of the lag (throttle) response( I HATE DRIVE BY WIRE)?
3) what is everyone paying for this Item and where?

Look foward to returning from deployment to Iraq and making a few mods on the Jeep that the wife has been enjoying!

I think the reason a couple people tossed some jokes is because the hypertech can not change the RPM's at a certain speed. You have a 6spd (according to your sig) and driving at a certain speed in a certain gear is going to give you a certain RPM, not because of electronics. It's mechanical.
Now changing your gears (a mechanical device) will effect it.

Being even more specific. Lets say in 6th gear you're driving at 65mph and your RPM's are 3200. Your mechanical gearing is causing this. Just changing the electronics can not change this alone. A gear change is the only way to effect it.
It would be like saying, I have a stock exhaust but used the programmer to make it a freeflowing one That would be nice though....lol

I'm glad everything is working out though

I have seen no change in fuel economy since installing the Hypertech program. I am seeing a noticeable change in acceleration, but that's about it.

I have no desire to change the settings to feed my Jeep premium unleaded, either.

I have the mod, and I'm still not convinced it was worth it.

I was sharing with the people that have actually thought about purchasing this, this obviously doesn't concern you.
Don't be so offended maybe YOU should learn to take a joke. As vbs4 said your gear ratio has not changed thru programing just the tach reading. Your engine is turning the same rpm as it was before the programing. Again didn't mean to offend you.

Okay, you're going to have to educate me in on this. I figured that after you recalibrated the speedometer (by adjusting tire size and gear ratios, you recalibrated the speedometer, right?) that now when the correctly calibrated speedo read 65 mph your engine speed dropped--not because your engine rpm's really dropped for the same speed, but because you were now going 65 mph (rather than, say 75 mph when the speedo was off, but reading 65 mph). No? Please clarify for me.

BTW: I know you have the six speed, but I don't believe that the Hypertech recalibrates shift points for the auto. Or does it now?

I don't know any other language so I will say it one more time for all and I'm sorry I even started this thread.

My speedometer read 60 MPH when I was actually going 65 MPH, I know this because my navigation speed is correct. I checked it in my completely stock Trailblazer. SO, with my 5.13's and 35" tires, I was going 65 and the engine was at 3,200 revolutions per minute.

With my speedometer reading correct now, 5.13's, 35" tires and the programmer I am at the same 65 MPH and the engine is now at 2,600 revolutions per minute.

I can take a joke, the problem is that most of the people on this site are know it all's. Reading an article or watching a T.V. show once a week for 30 minutes doesn't mean you can do anything, unless you have hands on experience, you are just blowing smoke up everyone's ass.

My gears were changed before the programmer. The programmer was the last thing I did with my Jeep. So, if you cannot accept the fact of what happened that's your problem. It's not my fault you won't spend the money and find out yourself.

If you believe me or not is not a concern of mine. My wife, two friends and I know this for a fact. The only proof I need is when I get in my Jeep and step on the gas pedal.
