Of course we don't want to start a war. For two decades I tested new military weapon systems, including writing and executing test plans. I'm skeptical of test data by training and experience, especially when it doesn't yield the results I would expect. I meant no offense with my questions; I'm just seeking understanding.

Happy Easter to you too, 08SaharaM6.

I don't want to start a war, I was just sharing some info. I don't know what other way's I can explain it, so I can tell you all I will no longer comment about it. Simply because it is obvious people don't believe me for whatever reason, I have nothing to gain by lying about something as little as this.

Happy Easter.
No one called anybody a liar. I just don't want anyone thinking they can lower there rpm's with a program and spend 400 and find out to late. I made a little joke, and ended the joke with a grin. You then got offended and said we watch a half hour show and become experts. I don't know why your rmp's did what you said they did. Maybe you were in a different gear maybe your gps is wrong I don't know. As I said I just didn't want anyone to spend money expecting something they won't get.

2008 JK 2dr Sahara today, and like you Said Danm that Electronic throttle, I am driving a

wrangler not a "F" Mercedes. I would be so greatfull if someone told me how fix that delay, I would pay

more than what a chip cost just to get the thing to respond quickly. The RPM is like a Slow

drunk idiot. (AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH should i go faster ,,,,,hello are you there ) ERRRRRRR it tickes me off i

wish i bought an automatic but too late

I just put 35's on my x with 4:10 gears, I am going to check to see if tach is correct before recalib. speedo. Somehow the computer is calculating wrong and displaying wrong rpm, that would be the only explination why the diff tach readings at same actual speed

I think someone has finally stumbled on what's happening.

Like many I've followed this thread too, and yes sorry to disappoint some or others, but looking at all the data presented from both sides, something still didn't make sense. And now it does.

Just a scientific observation thats it.

The tach reads the engine RPM from the engine, nothing will ever make it read a false reading, it is what it is at the engine, it doesnt care about tires, gears or anything else, like putting it in neutral and revving it up for example.

Bigger tires will make you run a lower RPM for a given speed though, and gears will make you run a higher RPM for a given speed (to make up for bigger tires).

The speedo is ONLY effected by the tires, gears do nothing as far as the speedo is concerned. The JK has wheel sensors to know how fast the Jeep is going, it measures how fast the wheel hubs are spinning then displays it on the speedo, it could care less how fast the engine, trans, or gears are spinning.

So there is no way the programmer can change the actual RPM reading of the engine at a certain speed (only tires can do that)
It can however change the actual speedo reading, which seems to will fool people into to thinking it changed the RPM.

Anyway........
Im happy with my Hypertech programmer
I can feel a noticeable improvement on take off and holding speed up hills, and Im just on the non-premium gas setting.
My mpg's went up from 13.5 to 15.5 with mixed highway and city driving, and Im getting around 17 on long highway trips.
Most of these improved readings are probably just because the odometer is actually seeing how many miles Im going now, due to the speedo fix.

As for the throttle lag, I never did feel my Jeep had it, but I have an automatic, maybe its different?
You want to feel a lag, drive a Mercedes! Ive owned one before and they have a huge lag time!
My Jeep feels snappy to me, I can even spin my 35's on pavement without brake checking it

Ditto

I have stock gears(4.10) and tires(32) with an auto tranny on an 08 rubi. I changed tire size to 31.5 (37 psi)and everything else was stock. I checked my speed against 2 different gps and radar and it was dead on. After three tankfuls of gas here are my numbers. MPG went 13.6 to 15.5 with mixed and 17.4 on the highway. Seat of the pants impresssion is a noticeably better acceleration and holding both speed and gear(no constant downshifting) on hills. Hesitation from a standstill is almost completely gone. These made it worth it to me. i will be going to 35's and 4.88 soon, so we'll see what happens. I am satified with my max energy.
