Sorry if that sticks in your craw, sir.
Tell it to Jeep.

Why not sit down with the salesperson and customize your package? As far as performance goes, only the Rubicon is different from the other models. The differences between the other models is only in the options. That being said, I wound up buying a red rock sport with the 24S package and added the power convenience group, side air bags, and hard top (no soft top).

The caveat is that I had to wait a while before I got to drive her home. If you're going to buy something, might as well go for what you want (and what your wallet will let you). Just my 2cents.

I think the customer preferred package 2TS is just an options group that's been cobbled together to get you to buy things you don't want. In my case, it was called the 24S package and you had to buy it to get cruise control. But it added other things I didn't really need (sorry, don't recall what any longer). Here's a summary of the models:

X/Sport: Basic model. If you plan to build your own rig for the trail, this might be the right choice for you (depends on whether you'd end up replacing all of those Rubi goodies).

Sahara: The luxury model, if there is such a thing. Plenty of people wheel them, but they do say "not wheeled" because of the painted fenders. The Sahara comes standard with all of the things that appeal to soccer moms and mall crawlers (and were never offered in Jeeps pre-JK), such as power convenience group.

Rubi: Serious off-road vehicle. Larger off-road tires (vice street tires), lower gearing in the transfer case, lockers on both axles, beefier D44 on both axles (vice D30 on front of other models), 4.10 gears, electronic sway bar disconnect, etc. Much of this can be easily added to an X or Sahara, but not all.

Regardless, whichever model you choose, all are capable off-roaders, the Rubi is just more capable.

LOL....Sahara is a Soccer Mom or Mall Crawler??? LOL.....The 4 door Wrangler is only Jeep that would be close to that Stereotype ...LOL.....What was never offered in a Jeep before JK???

You do know that JK models didn't start until 2007 models and that Before Chrysler bought Jeep that there was no such thing as a Wrangler til 1987.... LOL.....Sahara is pretty much one of the First Special Editions along with the Islander and the Renegade which had just as much if not more Body extras.....

And from your knowledge of the History of Jeep, a Sport would work for you while a Rubicon is overKill.....Sahara is the top of the Line one if you want more then just a dirt Vehicle. If you buy a Jeep to enjoy being hard on a vehicle then it should be one for Playing offroad only. no way for a abused one to be everyday ride. I reminds of the Poor days growing up....LOL

I love the colour and get tons of compliments on it... Don't see many around which adds to the appeal... Add-ons like what? Usually finding them isn't the problem, deciding which one to add first and having enough cash usually is

Sorry, i meant to explain that in better detail...Say for instance if I have a White Vehicle, then Black trim parts etc make it pop in the change of color or maybe it makes another part stand out....Like your color would look cool with contrast of Black, like a black grill, hood bra, or something simple as mirrors being black look good together as a contrast to your color.

On my one jeep here it is the red rock, Burgandy....color is classic and a rich light brown and maybe a dark gold ,as always been the combo with Burgandy...black doesn't stand out on it....white is not even possible...lol....And Chrysler has a problem with their color chioices, they used Kakhi with Burgandy and a few others.....most people think kakhi is tan when in fact it isn't, the pants kakhi are not named for the color. Kahki the color was designed by British army and more to that story but won't bore you.

The True Kahki is in the Green family and this kahki is green...lol....it's like green and red...christmas colors on a jeep...lol...and the one color choise of chrysler that bugs the hell out of me is the color they still use, The Instrument panel lights and they ugly sicken glow of GREEN lights you have to see at night...lol....I changed all my to red leds....
My exterior lights are the only bulbs that aren't LED yet...lol

So my add on choices are pretty much limited to Black because tan colored mud flaps just don't sit well with me...lol....and with your Color, you're pretty Limited also, but the Color I'm limited to and prob you too, Really pops on your color....lol...

I do like the color for reasons you mention...Wrangler, Trans Am, Z28, maybe a Mini Cooper all are the types of Rides that can carry these colors...

One of my funniest car buying times and getting the head turms like you said, is when I bought my Trans Am when the Last body style was made. Trans Am did a Limited Build while Camaro pumped them out....

It was white, spoilers to the ground , T-tops and the right amonut of black trim, with the Pop up head lights....lol...That future look at that time turned heads, stopped them in their tracks and made so many of my friends jealous even tho they had the new Camaros, mine made people stare when you would go screw around and ride...lol...

the good ole days....early 90's, music good on kick but system, tops off, young, (younger) lol...and everyday there was a huge court Trial of a Famous ex Football player all mixed with Murder, and my home town got our first football team, carolina panthers....lol...

Wow... Cool story bro haha

I love the contrast of black to Dozer so finding parts is easy enough... Like you suggest, I will be plasti dipping my grill to matte black so that contrast will look good..

I once saw a sahara that had matching fenders and roof and thought it looked absurd so I can appreciate your situation... You can always try painting the parts yourself...

U have pics of the trans am?
