I think here in Canada it would be just as hard to keep a monkey in your Jeep as it would a hand gun.

I'm sorry for that. Living in Texas with a concealed Carry License. I carry everywhere. If I cant carry at a particular place, I dont go there. I'm not a macho screw-the-rules coyboy type, just an American that exercises my right to defend myself with awesome lethality if necessary....

Plus, I keep nothing of value in the Jeep, and on the odd occasion I have to, I lock it in the center console. I know, not exactly a vault, but if they can't see it, they won't be as likely to come in.
Someone on here was leaving his jeep unlocked too, they still slashed the window to get in.

I've parked many nights all over Philly
You say it like its a bad thing. lol

LOL...well, parking on the east side of the Temple campus is kinda pushing it, safety-wise, but there've been a few occasions for classes and functions where I had to, and so far no issues. I figure that neck of the woods is close to as bad as it gets in Philly!

You Yanks and your right to bear simians... I'll never understand what the fuss is all about.

They smell bad and wreck stuff; the only upside is that you can train them to de-crab your "date" for you

Visibility is no deterant. I had my JK broken into just last week. In broad day light. I used to figure, if they can't see it..........not anymore, they destroyed the factory glove box getting into it and took everything that was in there, XM Radio, Face plate for Ham Radio, Owner's Manual, Registration, Proof of insurance, tire deflators, CDs, sockets for the doors and hood hinges. They even popped the mount for the XM off of the dash. Took my cell phone charger and even the lighter that was laying in the center console.

They tried to get the power cord for the XM, but I had wedged it into the crack along side the center console running up to the top of the dash and had it wired tied in a couple of spots to the defroster ducts.

The top was up and the doors were locked, so they popped out the rear window on the soft top and crawled in through there. Thankfully they didn't slash the soft-top.

So now I have a gapping hole in my dash were my glove box used to be, so that needs to be replaced, the XM has been permanantly deactivated, I called XM and told them it had been stolen, so they flagged and now it can NEVER be activated again , I need to replace the face plate for my Ham Radio, get new tire deflators, sockets, CDs and registration (Flippin' California DMV is gonna charge me $17 for that ). All totalled, nearly $800 worth of stuff gone or damaged, and no one saw a thing.

A Glock would make a good alarm system, but as someone else said, if you don't see them doing it, it won't do you much good.

I keep my registration, insurance card, "keys" for wheels, 20 bucks, etc at the edge of the back driver's side back door at the bottom underneath the carpeting.

I prefer the taurus version but a very good substitute

On a serious note If you have something and want to keep it don't leave it in a jeep. I (9/10 times) leave my jeep unlocked I have a cheap sound system and don't leave ANYTHING that I wouldn't miss in it. If they slash my top it gives me an excuse to get tinted windows with the insurance money
