It's odd here in Northern VA (near DC). It seems that mostly people with modified Jeeps wave and a lot of the stockers do not. I just keep waving, they'll get it eventually!

It seems that a lot of people just don't get it. I wave at everybody all the time. I too have to remind myself during the day that I'm in my work truck and not the Jeep. I find myself smiling and getting ready to wave and then realize that a Ford doesn't cut it. My 5 year old loves the Jeep Wave and is always craning his neck out the window so he doesn't miss one. On the other hand my buddy recently bought a JK and I don't think he waves at anyone. I've explained it to him many times but who knows. I think for him its just a cool way to get around...sad really.

I wave in my JKU, I wave on the harley, only problem is when I wave at bikes while in the JKU or vice versa, then I really get strange looks. If I get a wave back or not no matter, it's their issue not mine.

The problem I've been running into with the wave thing is this. When I drove my YJ I would do the wave thing and have tons of people wave back. Since I bought the JK I've had maybe 1 person wave back to me, it's like they are thinking oh this is probably his first Jeep or something or oh that JK is a road queen, I don't get it.

These shocked looks that people have when you forget what car you are in and still wave, never made much sense to me. Both my vehicles - the JK and my Evo - have close knit communities who wave at each other. Is it that hard to understand that maybe I am waving to you because I own the same vehicle as you and it has become a habit to wave. Now if you were in a FJ and you waved at a JK or an STi wave at the Evo, I could understand the strange looks because they are the main "rivals". There is one STi that likes to wave at me, heck with that! lol. Oh well. But only 1 out of 10 Wranglers wave at me, the TJs never wave.

Thank you for clearing that up my wife would ask me why are those people waving at you , I would just say they are being nice .

Now for the wave to you wave your whole hand like princesse or do you you just put two fingers up or in some cases one finger up

f'eh, I wave all the time and get waves back about 75% of the time now. The funniest part, to me, is I get a lot of waves from the drivers of cars that get caught in the 'crossfire' of my wave to the other jeep.

I ride a motorcycle a lot, and it is a thing for that too. I find myself waving a lot, sometimes I even do it (out of habit) when I am in a rental car or passenger in a friends car
