JK Pricing is getting crazy
I dont know if its just my perception...but JKU pricing over the last year or two has seemed to jump a bit.... and a brand new sport with an AEV250 kit installed from the dealership just popped up for 40K! im no mathmetician but a basic lift, wheels and tires doesn't add 7-8k to the value ... and "built"(read cosmetically modified) Rubicons are listing at 50-60! i feel like i got a deal on mine now and ive only had it for a year.
put some lights and a different bumper on it and the price goes up another 8-10k.
anyone have any thoughts on this?

I sold my 2011 in 2013 for $22k. I saw it this summer at a local dealer for $26k, I only paid $24k for it brand new in 2011 lol
I wish I had kept it, now that I'm looking to get back in a jk the prices are disgusting!

My 2012 JK Sport was originally priced at the dealer I bought it from at 25k and change with only 51,000 or so miles. The price was dropped for a 4th of July sale to 21k and change, they were raising the price up to 24k when I went in to look at it but the ad online was still at 21k and they had to honor that price. Needless to say I practically stole that Jeep off the lot that day. The moral of the story here is if the price had went back up I would not have even been able to buy it. The pricing for Jeeps in general is outrageous, I can only imagine what the JL will be priced at.

That's nuts. You Can still get a 2012 with between 80-100k on the clock for about $16k. It seems like the drop in price starts around 60,000 on the Odo. I got mine fresh off a lease for under $30k with the sport S package and 18k on the clock and similar vehicles now are around 32-34 for similar mileage!
It's supply and demand. Jeeps, especially the Wrangler, are more popular than ever and FCA can't push them out fast enough. Likewise, virtually all semblance of completion the Wrangler had (not that it was much) is gone. Hummer is toast, the FJ is done, and the Xterra is no more.

All that is true, I looked at some the other day and felt the same way. Don't think I will get rid of my 07 Sahara any time soon. But have my eye on a 10 Mango Tango Mountain, he wants $21,000. I don't like the tires & rims, may not want the lift either. Probably wait till I find one stock.

You also have to consider that it is a dealership with aftermarket parts. If you read the sticker on an AEV Jeep, it lists the bumpers in the realm of $3000 each. Now those are expensive bumpers at both being 1500+ but for aftermarket installations the dealers charge an arm and a leg.
