Default So what is there other than Lojack?

Is there any thing else I can do to make it hard to steal. LoJack is again after the car is stolen. Can anyone point me in the direction of other devices that I could put in the vehicle other then Lojack?

This system by Ravelco is a very highly recommended unit by L.E. Officers and many of them use it to secure their own vehicles. With the mods on my Jeep I would rather prevent a theft altogether to keep all my stuff, rather than have the Jeep get away for a short time to be stripped only to recover a shell.

This system is the one I will get when I get around to getting one installed.

So remove the Rubicon decals and add a set of X decals and you should be okay, right?

I have heard of numerous Rubi's disappearing here in SD. Right out of people's driveways in nice neighborhoods.
I think a good investment is a Trunk Monkey! Oh, Magazines are referred to as clips in todays gun world! C'mon....

if you dont care about airbags, get a racing steering wheel with a detachable hub, then you can take your wheel with you.
battery cuts, self explainaory.
brake lock, shifter lock, theres lotsa things you can do

oh or get a card board cut out of someone and sit it in the drivers seat

Get a really good alarm that works.

It should have a deterant like the viper type has with a blinking l.e.d.
If you get one like that you should put the l.e.d. in plain view in the middle of your dash.
Make sure its sensative to touch and such and has programable zones.

This will NOT stop a true pro.
But then nothing will.
But it will stop nieghborhood kids unless they are so jacked up they don't notice the alarm.

So yeh a loJack is good too. Or similar.
Get the LoJack installed 1st, then install the wizbang alarm.
LoJacks alarm sucks IMHO.
But their track down and retrieve rate can't be beat.
But True Pros will disable the LoJack in like 4 seconds as they KNOW where they get put.

The very best deterant is to bang your Jeep up so bad it looks like crap.
Lots of dents and dings and pin stripping helps too.
NEVER WASH IT!

Hanging camo from it might help too.
Some shrubbery like our President....Bush...

Not to mention that the equipment is dated and we are seeing less and less of it in our police cars. it used to be a lot of the units were outfitted with it, not so much anymore. They removed the lojack system from our helicopters due to them not being all that effective.
This is a good point and well taken.

Again an ACTIVE alarm system that is very sensative and will ALERT YOU.
Then you get on it and have a CHANCE with your LoJack or whatever other version of tracking system you get, ( I did ).

All security systems should be "layered".
Simple things like parking it with some other car blocking it, make good sense tho it may be inconveinient.
Also good area lighting is a major security "plus".
A mean dog in the back all night works too.
But you'll have trouble with your active alarm then... Paper or Plastic ?

Maybe park it at the 7-11 all night.....

WEll so sum it all up I got RAVELCO installed today. I did a lot of research and this really is the best option to not have your JK leave your driveway or from anywhere else for that matter. Since I travel a lot and have not near my vehicle weeks at a time I feel much better now knowing that it will be there when I return.
