Sorry to disappoint you, but in the world we live in right now, nothing, i repeat, nothing is 100% from one place, just is not feasible and doesnt make sense, it will be really expensive.

In the other hand, and i dont mean any direspect, the US has many companies with interest around the globe. so you may buy something made in china, mexico, taiwan, etc, but from a US firm. hence, ultimately the benefit will come around.

The manufacturing technology in China has come up in leaps and bounds in the past 5-10 years. Now if you own an iPad, iPod, laptop, etc, probably made in China. Their steel and aluminum products have also come up a couple notches in quality. Some American automakers (Chevrolet) have started to have their entire engines made in China even for North American cars. If you had to pay an extra $10K for your Jeep, could you afford it?

I always try to buy products made in usa/or assembled in usa; at least then a worker here has a hand in it. On a non jeep related note. check out stillmadeinusa.com- they dont sell anything, is just a database of companies that still manufacture products here..

Also check out walmart, theyve gotten alot better about stocking products made here. All my cookware is made in usa, and bought at walmart! And some of the most random stuff- buckets, plungers, tupperware, etc.. All it takes is flipping it over and checking the label! Im willing to pay a dollar more to put/keep people working!

What we all should be saying is stop all this buying and support with China. We all should be buying our products off western countries.
Their could be one problem with America as it is now owned by China. It would cost each American $45,000 each just to pay of the loans which will never happen. You have to stop borrowing to buy toys like Jeeps. In less then 10 months America has to sign more loan agreements.

I try to buy American whenever possible. Sometimes I just cant afford to. I wanted a pair of American made outdoor boots, I just couldnt justify $300.00 for a pair of boots. Its really sad when we look at the state of our nation and everyone is wondering why theres no work. I think that we have made everything so cut throat that domestic companies have a very hard time competing. Why pay Joe Shmoe $50.00 an hour plus bennies when Ching will do it for $2 a day and not have to worry about labor conditions, workers comp, osha breathin down your neck, EPA, blah blah blah. I have a theory that eventually there will only be two types blue collar employment in the US. We will either work for Wal Mart or McDonalds. Everything else will be outsourced.

Sad to say but the manufacturing will continue to leave the US as India, China and other counties continue to modernize. What I don't like, hate, is how the Chinese play the game with their purposely devalued dollar.

I just hate this new reality with the chinese products

In the 1980's I used to buy my tools, my oven, my shoes, and many other products from Canadian or American manufacturers.

Since China has the market, everething break within a year. And now, we all think that this is normal.

It's just ebb and flow. Chinese wages are rising, US wages aren't, some manufacturing will slowly rebound here. Probably nothing like the good ol' industrial days, but something to forward to for those who are concerned.

Make it easy on yourself. Look at the back of the spare. Most vehicle parts are made in Asia now. Simple ecinomics. I think Edlebrock (sp) may be one of the only companies that does it all in the USA.
