I don't think anyone actually hates the mall crawler crowd. I think we all just like to give them a hard time. Kinda like an older brother teasing his little brother.

 

It's even more sad that all the people bought the 2 doors when there are so many used CJ's and YJ's out there that are far superior off roaders. I know this is true because I keep hearing that the four door is just too big to take off road, therefore the older Jeeps must be even better because they are a lot smaller than the 2 door JK.

 

All 4 doors! We all know that real Jeeps have 2 doors!

+1 , to each there own. I don't get where some of you feel the need to "DIS" the so called MallCrawlers. Just because you off road or go mudding in your Jeeps doesn't make you the ultimate jeep owners. I have owned 4 wranglers before buying my 2012 Sahara unlimited, and most of them have seen limited, true off roading. There is nothing wrong with a lifted, big tired jeep that does not go off roading every chance they get. I like the versitility of being able to go anywhere anytime I want to in my Jeep, weather it is off roading or going to the store in 14" of snow! I like the years of confident driving in any weather, and I feel better that when my wife gets caught at work in a snow storm, I know she will make it home with no worries of her getting stuck. You see, there are many uses for driving what we all drive, and we chose the Wrangler for multiple reasons, but it all comes down to owning a Jeep is cool as hell and always will be, no matter how you use it! So keep on mudding, off roading, mall crawling, and waving. We are all part of a small group of awesome people who drive Jeeps and I am proud to be a part of it!

 

people are forgetting too that you're driving one of the only convertible SUVs and that appeals to people who prob have not want to off road too.
many people build their jeeps for the chance they may need the mods, not WILL need the mods. The old saying "Id rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it" applies here. The same reason you stock up on ammo may be the same reason someone builds up their jeep.

If you base your decision on whether a mod just looks cool or is functional, everyone with the Home Depot grill mod is a mall crawler right????

 

Agreed...why can't people just own a Jeep because they like the look? So someone shouldn't own a high end sports car since they'll likely never push it to the limits and race down the freeway at 200 mph?

I've always wanted a Jeep...used to beat the crap out of my full size diesel trucks out in the desert. I got tired of spending $ fixing stuff I broke and don't have the time anymore to make the long drive to an off road area.
