Default Moving to Chicago and have a question

we are moving to Chicago and am moving I to an apartment. There are no car wash facilities at the apartment and as there are some in town, what do people do in the winter to protect their cars from all the salt??

Don't want my rocker panels rusting out!!

Any ideas? I thought about plasti dipping 2' up along the rockers and doors for the winter.

Any other ideas?

And what about the under carriage?

The salt gets knocked off when they hit your parked jeep on the street.

There are car washes up there but you are going to hate that town and the winters. I hear there are some nice big new taxes coming up there too.

Living in there it will get wrecked or stolen way before it has a chance to rust.

Well, I was asking for help; not negativity.

And I currently live in Memphis. Chicago will be like going to a daycare in comparison.

Lots of car washes all over the city. Some fantastic hand washes too. Simons is my go to spot.

No. They can't store enough water because all the pipes freeze up in the winter. Puuuleeeze

Living in michigan I'll tell you that there is nothing that will prevent the rust other than not moving to the rust belt.

But if you do make sure to bring enough water for your family to make it through the winter.

I'm sure you already know that Chicago is only 532 miles away from you in Memphis. It's just a 7 hour drive.
