Need shocks
Well the title states it. But here's the problem seems I can only get one year out of a set of shocks and that's all 4. There leaking and I need a new set. I had teraflex really didn't like the ride and they leaked after 6mths. Now I have bilsten's 5100 love the ride but there leaking bad had them on just under a year roughly bout 15k miles.
I have 2.5" RK lift running 35's. Front LCAs jeep runs true and everything is aligned. Now I don't off road what so ever just the shitty road around here are worse then logging road.
Any suggestion on shocks that I can get more than a year out of would be great. I'd love to keep running the 5100's but if I'm only getting a year out of them I'm not going with them.
I pretty much baby my jeep and just drive it to work so mix of city and highway. The occasional dirt road to fish but nothing a Subaru couldn't tackle.

the one thing that strikes out to me, is that if those 15k miles were spent going down bump central at high speed, its actually alot harder on the shocks then rock crawling at .5 a mile per hour in 4 lo
Wouldn't say high speed the city maybe 15-25 and there roads aren't that great but the highways around here are in good shape but I really never go over 65-70
If you're going through shocks that fast I'd say there's something going on that is causing them to fail, whether that be driving habits/conditions or parts incompatibility. Is your shock length correct for your lift/bump stop height? If your shocks are bottoming out before you hit bump stop that could be causing the failures.
As far as quality shocks go, look at the Fox 2.0 reservoir shocks. Great ride and they're rebuildable! (which beats having to buy new shocks every 6 months)

I'm really impressed with my Rancho RS9000XL adjustable shocks. I've had them adjusted to 3 different settings and you do feel the difference. I do agree with a previous post if you're going through shocks that fast there may be a different issue with your jeep causing the shocks to fail prematurely. Back to these shocks depending on what type of road/terrain you're on just adjust accordingly ... They've been on sale a few times too this year at an amazing price!! Good luck

As far as contacting bilsten I thought of that but didn't think it would do anything since it's been bout a year since they been on.
