Default 2017

They mention

"The next-generation Wrangler, due in 2017."

I wonder is that model year 2017 that will be available for sale late 2016 or is that model year 2018 that will be available late 2017?

I am thinking of getting another Wrangler later in calendar year 2016 and this might influence my decision depending on what the new model looks like.

Next Wrangler Sticking with Solid Axles

If you're stuck in an office right now and envious of those who aren't, I'm sorry. No matter where you are, I have some great news for you: The next Wrangler, set to appear in 2017, will stay with solid axles.

Don't forget that the epa standards could get revised once Obama is gone. If the top doesn't come off its not a wrangler.

People have been weaned from the folding windshield due to the many moves required to fold/unfold it, and its odd curved look when folded.
I think the engineers did a great job of making a folding windshield undesirable. It simplifies their job in the future.

I wonder if these facts are straight from Jeep. Could be speculation.

The next-generation Jeep Wrangler will keep the floating solid axles considered key to the off-roader's ability to traverse nearly any terrain, Automotive News has learned.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles officials declined comment.
Blah blah blah. This is all speculation and it's the same news that's been floating around for a couple years. Congratulations for falling into the ol' click-bait BS blog trap.

That is likely why there has been no Hemi option. So all you guys out there quit buying Jeeps!

There is a difference between speculation and news reporting. Automotive News is well-known in the trade for the latter.

That has to be one of the most stupid, ignorant comments I've ever read on this forum. Stick to Jeeps, not politics.
