My Jeep is a hobby. So is fishing and golf. My point is I do things I can afford without sacrifice. If wondering how other people afford their interest while you are struggling seems to me that maybe you should revisit your situation and choose something closer to your finances.

I made my husband sell his 16' aluminum Lund skiff. I'm going to spend my PFD on mods too. Otherwise, I eat PB&J sandwiches for lunch and skip the lattes to save up for mods.

I'm a military pilot by trade. Every time I go into a "hostile" area, we get additional $$ for the danger. Since it's not "normal" income, I always put it all into savings. Then when I return home I divide the $$ 1/3 for my vehicles (Jeep + Camaro), 2/3 family.
When I'm not deployed, I make a savings fund and use a portion of my tax returns for stuff I really wish to have. What I NEVER do is put that crap on my Credit Card without the $$ in my bank account to pay for it.

I am reasonable about how much I waste on my jeep. My first priority is always bills and savings, which my normal job hour cover all that I need. So whenever I get overtime and extra shifts at work, usually most of that goes into my jeep fund...
