Welll, I finally took the plunge today!! I have wanted a rubicon jeep since they first came out in the TJ line. I settled for a 1997 Jeep TJ

I modified it slightly with a 2" budget boost and 1.25" bodly lift with some 32" BFG MT's...

I had to sell that '97 TJ due to expanding family.

The next jeep I purchased I again wanted a rubicon, but just couldn't afford it so I bought a 1999 TJ and have over the last few years modified it quite well with D44 axles, 4.88 gears, ARB lockers front and rear, 35's on beedlocks, etc..etc...

well, I have recently moved to Denver Colorado and had a 2wd dodge ram quad cab and with 2 children it was VERY tight inside (My legs were in the dash and my son behind me had his feet in the seat). Sooo...we just got back from the dealership and purchased a used 2007 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited!!!!!

It has the 6 speed manual, and the power option (power windows on a jeep!! WOW)

I must say, I am VERY impressed with the ride quality. I kept telling me wife on the way home "is this really a JEEP"!!

It probably won't get a ton of off road time as my black '99 TJ is the wheeler for a while as the JK is my DD.

My first mod to make will be the myGig, mainly to get the uconnect to work!! It has uconnect button on the stereo but it doesn't seem to do squat.

Anyone have any suggestions on where/how to get a mygig with navigation and uconnect installed? I am pretty good with a wrench, but need some input on the JK as all my work has been with TJ's...

Again, I am SOOO excited!

Nice Jeep.

If you buy a MyGig with Nav, you will have uconnect if you buy an easily installed $30 microphone. You just have to go into the engineering menu and turn it on. Its easy to do, anyone can do it.

The reason why the uconnect doesn't work is because they never installed it. I have read somewhere where someone had installed it. It was second hand info so not sure on the validity to it.

Thank you, It is nice to finally have one! I am glad I waited as the 4 doors are amazing!!

Also, thank you to the info on the uconnect...I will have to do some research on where to get a mygig setup with the microphone.

I have one other quick question, when in 4lo and you activate the sway bar dissconnect how exactly does this function?? If i get some wheel spin on a rock or slick snow will the sway bar reconnect due to the speed of the tires spinning? i guess I need to go get the manual and read it. I have always been old school with a manual disconnect system...called the 5 finger pull LOL!!!

having all these amazing buttons really is nice!!

Congrats on the new Jeep.

If you don't want to spend the money for a MyGig, you can get the UConnect kit for about $200-$250 and add it to your current radio. I did that on my 08 and it works great. Defintely a lot cheaper route. The kit will work for either the single disc (RES) or 6 disc (REQ) radios. Hope that helps some.
