Yeah, this one I really don't quite understand since the JK's came out in late '06. Why would they take away such basic and useful functionality in the 2-doors ? How hard is it to have a fold and tumble seat frame ?

The only thing I can think of is they were trying to save money. As nice as the JK's are, it seems they really went out of their way to save money. i.e. plastic grills, etc.

I was under the impression that they brought these back in either 2009 or 2010. I believe I read that in a thread either here or on another Jeep board.

Are we talking front or rear? My 09 rear folds and tumbles beautifully. My front seats do not. PITA.

The "fold and tumble" is a rear seat feature and the JK has that. The old "flip forward" seat brackets go back to the CJs, but you're right about the new ones not being as convenient.
