Oh yeah the "race" thing. I have state farm and man they look for that one hard. I had some mice get into my Corvette one winter and do some damage. When the adjuster came to look and it he seen the Nitrous bottle in the back and then listed it as a race car and I had to raise holy hell (had to go after his boss's boss) to get it covered. In the end it was covered but I had to stomp hard on some toes.

Off-roading has to be covered in IMO (I think racing and competition use is the exception) - because the Insurance Company has agreed to cover for the lien holder (the bank) if it isn't paid off yet. I suppose I'll double check my policy to make sure there isn't a specific exception for off-road use. I think once the vehicle is paid off there may be a fight over it since the bank is no longer involved.

I don't see any reason why the insurance companies should not cover this. It's not like your doing something illegal and going offroad is what this vehicle is designed for...it even instructs you how to do certain offroad maneuvers in the owners manual, crossing streams and going over logs, etc...
As long as you are doing what the vehicle is designed for according to the owners manual, the insurance company should cover it.

Ok so update on roll over- I stripped all well 90% of my mods of the busted up two door. Spent the week doing some shade tree body work and fix ups. Took it today and traded it in for a JKU lol. Now I see my weekend being filled with lift and do dads install. Should be back on the trails by feb. ended up getting a 2009 unlimted x- don't need the bells and whistles of the new 2012s I strip everything outta them anyways... Plus now I can afford umm can you say dana 60s and super charger? I can! Damn I love America

Congrats on the new ride....i'm with allstate, and had a lengthy conversation with the local adjustor. Don't wreck your car on a racetrack, it will not be covered. Wreck your jeep on the trail, just not while participating in an organized event. If you are wheeling with buddies and total it, good to go. If you are running jamboree or KOH or something, not covered.
