Default TOTALED JKU question

I was recently in an accident. My jku vs ford explorer. They were found at fault and my jk is in the shop.

I was wondering if it is found to be totaled would i be able to recover items such as my rear light guards, my tuffy trunk box even my psc crusher flares.

If anyone has been in this situation your experience would be greatly appreciated.

WOW ! Im happy to see you made it out alive but i would have to say yes you should have the time to recover items from your JK. One question, did your JK make that explorer flip over ?

I worked as a body shop manager for 25 years. Yes you will be able to recover those items if you have the stock ones to replace them. If you don't they will still let you have them but they will give you less for the vehicle. It does not appear to be a total loss if it is a newer JKU. You can replace the frame without totaling the vehicle. It is all a matter of money to the ins co. If they can repair it for less than the replacement cost they will repair it. What year and how many miles on it? Check all the door gaps to see if any thing has shifted. Also have them put the Jeep on a computer measuring system to verify the frame is straight. This system should give you a print out to retain so when you sell the Jeep one day you can show the new buyer the vehicle frame is ok. let me know if I can help with this. Rick

Yeah the jeep flipped the explorer. They ran a light and turned right in fro t of me. I t boned them. They went right over. Thankfully they were fine too.

I checked over the vehicle the driver door is shifted so much so that it needs to be forced closed the passenger door is further away from the wind shield. It seems racked from the front doors forward.

I do have the stock fenders so that's good to know i could swap em.

Thanks for the advice.

i may be wrong but if they total it you should get to replace everything youve done aftermarket on there dime, that way you dont have to worry about your parts being bent!

Damn bro!

Really, though. Jeep looks OK in retrospect. Glad your OK. Do you still smell like Airbag gas? I had to throw my clothes away last bad wreck I was in. I had a seatbelt cross bruse on my chest that lasted 2 weeks too!
