So i asked...
the other day i went into the dealer ship to see why im feeling some play in my gas pedal and to get a oil change. here it goes...its a tad long.
saturday
me: im feeling some play in my gas pedal and i need a oil change. been feeling it since the beginning of winter.
service: well check on it.
thirty minutes later....
me: how is everything going?
service: great found some loose bolts and we are re-torqueing them right now.
service: oh btw do you go off roading with your jeep at all?
me: no, i bought the jeep here with the lift and everything.
service: well we will be charging you $260 for retorqueing everything.
me: what?
service: well the car seems as if its been taken off road and that is what caused the nutz and bolts to come loose.
me: well i havent even touch grass let alone rocks or dirt with my jeep ever since i got the car?
service: well there is alot of play and red dirt stains under the jeep?
me: your detail guys didnt do a good enough job deliverlying me the jeep when i bought it. check with them and the old owners and plus look outside there is nowhere to go off road in red dirty and no rocks to climb. its all snow out there and ice.
service: well we believe you have taken your jeep off roading.
me: well there is a BADGE on the side of the jeep that says its off-road capable? does that badge not mean anything? and its the middle of winter why would i do that in the middle of winter?
service: that badge just means it can go off road not telling you to do it..
me: you just said it? it can go off road?
me: so to my understanding i bought a car that you guys say that can go off road, but really it cant? is that false advertising?
service: your jeep is lifted and has big tires thats a sign of off-roading?
me: so you saying since i have all that i go off road?
me: pointing to a dogde charger with big rims and exhaust? so i want you to tell that guy that he is a street racer cause he has a exhaust and big rims. can you do that for me?
me: can i speak to your service manager?
service: he isnt here
me: new car sales manager or used car manager? someone who runs this place?
use car manager: whats the problem sir?
me: your service advisor here says that im getting charged for getting all my nutz and bolts re-tighten?
manager: and?
me: he is assuming that i went off roading and that is the reason why my bolts are loose?
manager: have you?
me: no look outside there is no rocks or dirt to even go off roading.
me: ok ok so before i bought the car.. i asked if i can go off roading and one of your super sales man said i should be fine.
manager: well you shouldnt take your jeep off road.
me: shaking my head! wow so i bought a car with a tag on it. just pushing people to go off road and im not allowed to even go off road. what kind of car dealer are you?
manager: well we dont push people to go off road. the badge is there just so that you know you can go off road if you have no other choice.
me:i dont get it. all these ads and glory about how jeep is well known for going off road and is made to go off road. now you tell me i shouldnt go off road unless i have to?
manager: yes
me: well your wrong..i bought this car cause i like the way it looks and feels while driving and i also bought it cause i know for sure that i can take it off road. one simple winter and all the nutz and bolts gets loose and your blaming me that i cause it to come loose.
you shouldnt advertise a car that you calm to be so godly on the rocks and dirt and then tell your customer that they shouldnt take there jeep off road?
so im payin for something that you design to be so strong and then after one winter everything comes loose. give me my bill im done talking to you.

me: hello
manager: i see that i have a note here to call you on a issue we had this saturday
me: i never left a note
manager: well whats going on?
me: nothing i already paid the bill i got charged for. why are you calling me?
manager: one of service advisor said you wasnt happy leaving here.
me: ooh of course im always happy leaving a play that charges me for something i didnt do, but they assumed that i did.
manager: pardon me?
me: well i had a great time there just talking to your people.
manager: what excalty happen. i see your bill was 270 total.
me: yes why are you calling me agian? i dont need your grief. now i know that i bought a car that isnt suppost to go off road even though there is badge stating that it can go off road.
me: ooh i would like to schedule a appointment to come and take off all the off road badges on my jeep that you guys put on. dont worry i dont mind paying for soemthing that isnt true.
manager: what are you sayin we are lieing about our jeeps being off road capable.
me: yes. by the time you fall into the ditch the jeep wont be able to even go off roading.. or is it only when you go into a ditch is when its off road capable. unless i was told wrong?
manager: why are you being so rude?
me: im not...im just talking to you as you talk to me. i was told by your service advisor that the reason the nutz and bolts are loose is cause i took my jeep off roading. so i was charged for just tightening some bolts. its fine dont worry about it. next time i come in ill be sure to put some really dirt on it and not just salt from the roads.
manager: well im sorry sir that you had that kind of treatment here. why dont you come back in and ill do a free clean up and give you your next 3 oil changes for free.
me: no thanks you why dont you just send me that coupons and ill go somewhere else for now on.
mananger: what can i do to have you come back to do buisness with us again.
me: im sorry but work is pretty busy here i hope you have a nice day and hopefully the next time you assume someone goes off road. please make sure that they do.
well that was the end of that. my quesiton is that what does that little logo mean to you? and why stamp a car with a badge that say it can do something and not allow it to do it.??
manager called back and left a message that
i got my money refunded back to me oil change was free of charge.

I feel like going to my local dealarships and pretending I want to buy a new jeep and then ask them all kinds of questions about taking it off road and mod-ing it and how it would affect my warranty and see what kind of responses I would get. I could make it some sort of research study. Then send it into Chystler and see how they respond.

You lured me in and now I want to know what happened when they called...
All that said, I'm a little nervous now because I pulled onto the gravel shoulder the other day to let an ambulance go by, so much for my remaining warranty!!! Lol!!
