Anyways, I am glad you realize the error of the second convo. I do believe that guy was genuinely trying to make you a happy(er) customer. True, a few oil changes wont make up the difference, but it's a show of good will. I would be hard pressed not to atleast call back and apologize, whether I got the perks offered again or not. But that's just me.

Default Tape recording

Actually, in most states I can think of, recording anyone is fine. You just may not record two people talking to each other without you being in on the talking. If you are the second party talking to someone, a stealth recording is ok. The law says that one party must have knowledge, not both. I'm sure that there are exceptions in some 3rd world countries or even in some of our 3rd world states here in the US but generally, recording is fine with those perameters I stated.

I'm gonna be the minority here, but in my opinion, as a vehicle owner you're responsible for the upkeep. If you take it off road, you should be prepared to maintain it yourself, or pay someone to do it for you.

No offense, but I've been in the same boat and I took responsibility and had it fixed on my dime. There's a huge gray area between defects and premature failure from use.

The trail rating badge is a gimmick. The brochures are "emotional guidance." Doesn't mean you can tread the Rubicon trail time and time again and service is supposed to fix it.
