Thats really not true, high cap mag's are made for people who can't be bothered with finding that front sight, The El Presidente drill is for dealing with multiple attackers. You practice untii you can clear The El Presidente in 6 to 8 seconds and YOU are a force to be reckoned with.

You are expecting to catch someone in your vehicle and there is someone waiting for you to open your door to your home (more stuff / family in your home). You think the crime is on the driveway and you WILL get ambushed.

Why not call the cops? 9-1-1 works. The police force is PAID to stop crime (and they hate competition) Look out your window and try to get a description of what the person looks like. If you see someone ,activate your home alarm and call a neighbour(s). The last thing that a criminal wants is an audience/witness.

I deal with scum like this every day I work. Sometimes there are things to reduce the chances of crime and others times you have reduce the impact of the crime.
Cops actually catch a criminal in the act. That is funny. I have a great respect for cops and believe in letting them do thier job. That said by the time we call 911 and someone gets out here it could be hours. My neighbor's shed was broken into neither he nor I were home. He has a silent alarm from the last time this happened a few years back. His son all of 14 years old dialed 911 and waited one hour for someone to show. They never caught the SOB however they found his 4 wheeler out of gass ignition torn up in the woods nearby. The reason for this is I live in a big county w/o a lot of money and it is hard for the county police to be everywhere and respond to everything. They don't even stop speeders and some other traffic offenses anymore because they don't have the time. It's unoficial but it is the policy. Now blatent and flagrant disrespect of the laws and dangerous driving will get you pulled but 15 or so over and you are lucky if they even flash lights. I will take no chances come in my yard after dark unannounced and expect me to be holding my shotgun while the wife brings the pistol and extra mags. There is something about a guy holding a shotgun that will give a criminal or criminals pause. I know about the pack mentality I taught at the worst school in the county and I know thier game. Preparation is the key my friend I can jack out 5 reload and jack out 5 more from the scattergun from behing cover faster than they can run. Any of them get a distance break out the rifle. Any stay near the pistol will be at hand before I get my last round off and she has hers. Pack criminal mentality versus old west justice you be the judge.

I busted a neighborhood kid trying to break into my Xterra a couple of years ago. I thought because he didn't cause any damage I would just turn him over to his father, he was 17. I guess his father didn't care because I got him again a couple of months later. Beat his ass real good. Called the cops. This time the kid was 18. His father was pissed and sucker punched me infront of the cops. I got in about 3 good licks before they got me off of him. They both went to jail. I hate people who steal. I work to hard for what I have. On that note, stay salfe everyone!

OK here's my good cop story. Back in the days when I did HVAC work & drover home the Company van I came out the door & hapened to notice a siloette inside the van. The lights were out. He had climbed in, shut the door and was leisurely going through the contents. I turned around went back inside and called 911. Well he finished his business comes out of the van while I'm talking to the dispatcher. I tell her about how he's getting leavingthe scene & i called 911 onthe cell phone to follow him down the block. Before I got around the en of the condos I could hear tires squealing & i started to run thinking he got in a car. To my surprise there were three officers on him with guns drawn & knees to the head driving him in the asphalt. The guy was wearing my work hat & coat, had filled up my toolbox with oil furnace nozzzles. I can only assume he was going to cash the brass and copper in . That should have netted him about 3 dollars in scrap metal. However for what they cost he received grand larceny charges and they actually put him in jail to boot.

To the poster who wrote that we should just call 911: Our police system is not empowered nor staffed sufficiently to PREVENT crime; they simply deal with its aftermath to the best of their abilities.

Vigilantism isn't pretty, but sometimes it's the best we, as a society, can muster...

I'm so happy that I and my family don't live anywhere close to where some you trigger happy people are. I don't give a sh!t how good a shot you are or how much time you might say that you spend in a shooting range. Much less those who condone extended magazines. Stray shots do occur! Any one who has military, or law enforcement experience can attest to this. a shooting range is one thing. Out in the field or on the streets it's another. Your pulse and blood preasure are increased, your eyes dilate, and potent physiologic chemicals are being released at an exorbitent rate. these all alter you both physically and mentally. Many studies have proven that these effects are similar to intoxication, Imagine that stray shot or one that becomes deflected and kills or injures an innocent individual. Think about potential consequences of your actions.

Personally I would not spend the money for a senor alarm! Why?

Answer this question -- How many times do you hear a car alarm going off? What do you do about it - even if it's not yours? Most folks just ignore them because so many times there are false alarms!

One time I saw a TV show about how useless the club was! Guy sawed in half the steering wheel in less than 30 seconds!

While I understand the frustration of getting the soft windows cut, my '81 Scrambler fell victim to not only windows, but also the tires getting slashed! An alarm is not going to stop some folks!

That's just it no one lives close to me. I say neighbor because he lives down the road but there is woods on 3 out of 4 sides and the 4th has a small dirt road and then woods. If I lived in wall to wall housing like some folks I would be a lot less likely to come out guns blazing however that is not the case. You got to keep in mind not everyone falls under the same situational categories as everyone else. Someone intent on doing me harm could do it and even though I am the first house on the road It would take days before someone would notice anything unless they called and I had not called back.

calm down Doc, no one's running around popping off rounds at petty vandals. It's just a discussion, nobodies getting shot, atm. I spend more time in a month, shooting, then most cops spend in a year, so I trust myself more then most of them. There is nothing to fear from a high cap magazine, it's just a little bit of bent sheet metal and a spring, kind of like a jeep, it is not evil, it is inanimate. I guess I condone them because I sure don't condem them.
And of course, better to spend your life as a crazed gun nut citizen then a cowering coddled subject. And I'm no fan of Rosie either!
