I have a manual, for me it wasn't even a choice it makes driving so much more fun and interactive to me....I like the control off road and lots of friends don't ask me to drive it cause so many of them can't!

The Auto is a 4 speed which is pretty crappy in my opinion.
I love my 6 speed.

I think it depends on where you live, who will be driving it, how will they be driving it and what mod's do you have planned?

There is a lot of traffic where I live and manuals in stop and go traffic suck. Will your's be a DD or a just-for-fun JK? If you plan on bigger tires, etc, you'll get by a little longer without having to re-gear with the 6 speed. But, the big factor in my case was I wanted an auto in case my wife needs to use it. Her with a 6 speed would be scary!

Been over 10 years since I had something wtih an auto. I prefer rowing my own gears. Clutch in the JK is super light, so not an issue in traffic.
