I really hope it happens. I need a truck too especially a jeep

 

According to the article the prototype was already shown to dealers at the Chrysler meeting this week. It will be out late 2011 and based on the JK Unlimited platform.

 

Interesting picture. I know it's a prototype, and that production vehicles can be very different, but it sure looks like there is a roller type fairlead in the front bumber. Could Jeep be contemplating a factory winch? That would be too cool for school!

 

If it's based on the JKU, I'm not interested. Don't get me wrong, I love my JKU. But if I'm going to buy a truck, it better have a tow capacity a heck of a lot greater than 3,500 lbs.

 

I think it's great! Now if it comes with the Hemi and the 2011 Grand Cherokee's 7k lbs towing capacity, I'm sold! Otherwise, I'm gonna build a Brute.

It looks about the same length as an unlimited. The picture even has the side steps and theirs a step cut out where the rear door would go on the unlimited. I wouldn't buy it if it has a 5ft bed. I didn't buy a 4 door tacoma for the same reason.

 

I wonder if it'll have a freedom top and removable doors just like the Wrangler???? That'd be sick.. Will it have a roll cage?? WILL IT COME WITH A DIESEL ENGINE!!!???

 

That pic is just the Gladiator concept from a few years back, the real version that was shown to the dealers has not been leaked...yet.
