It's really funny how personally people take it when other people do things to their own Jeeps that we don't like for our own. Just makes mine look better IMO.

Btw, does my Copperhead count as burnt orange?
Sorry that it offends some of you. Not really.

Default I Love It

First of all love the thread, great entertainment. Some good opinions as well as I have never realized how much some of these bother me until you all called them out so thanks for the hatred you put in my life.
Now for my list:

Personally I hate black rims and black jeeps, to me it's like you bought black because you couldn't afford the chrome. hahaha
I hate when someone doesn't put there soft top all the way down and it looks like a sailboat riding down the road. I hate when I see people leave mud on there Jeep for days upon end because they think it looks cool, hey its cool you went riding and got a little muddy but clean the damn thing up, it doesn't have to be blinging but you look stupid when you can only see out of 1/3 of the windshield. I also hate rockstars and 20's, aren't tires and wheels already expensive enough why go with a 20 when an 18 will do. Snorkels are ignorant, buy a freaking boat if you need to get across water that deep. I'm sure there is more I hate and I look forward to how you all hate my comments.

But what do I do when I get to the other side where this public road across Lee Creek in Arkansas continues? It is wise to not judge someone else's performance needs by your own experiences.

I agree with you 100%

Well that's 99% of the mods that anyone does to JKs. This forum included. Myself included.
Yes, it is difficult to find American made products, but they are out there, and in most cases the quality is much better. I would rather save for six months to buy a set of Crawler Conceptz fenders than buy a set of smittybuilt today. Just my opinion. Use my Jeep too hard to buy cheap parts.

I would rather buy a Snorkel for $400 bucks than rebuilding the engine after its HydroLocked.

Maybe I should have said I think snorkels look ignorant. I would never judge anything you needed for performance, if you got the coin to drive yours across the river go for it dude. To each there own I just don't see the point of sinking my Jeep underwater just to say I did it or whatever the reason may be it's just not for me. But hey if I ever see you on a trail somewhere maybe you can give me a ride across the river

My big beef is with mods which make your Jeep less safe to you and to other drivers when driven on the road, especially when your Jeep will never ever see any offroad miles that would necessitate any aftermarket mods. Primary offenders are lift, mud tires/oversize tires, heavy steel bumpers.

I mean, if you want to make your Jeep look a certain way and it has no detrimental affect on safety or the performance of safety equipment on your vehicle or its interaction with other vehicles, then I really don't care. Decals, different tops, your choice of wheels, etc. Whatever. But for the mall crawler with the 35" tires that have doubled the stopping distance and 4" lift and put on a 200 lb steel front bumper so when you can't stop in time to prevent rear-ending another vehicle you do about 10x as much damage to the unsuspecting driver in front of you and their car ... well I have zero tolerance for that. It's irresponsible, immature, and selfish beyond any measure.

Whatever mods you want on a strictly off-road vehicle, well that's your business, I don't care. Do what you want. You crash into a tree or rock, well I am not so concerned about the damage you do to the tree or rock. But I am concerned when my family and friends, along with other fellow human beings, are being subjected to your unsafe vehicle on the roads just because you think you look cooler with a big lift, tires, and bumpers.

You should sell your jeep and purchase a Volvo. Your family and friends, along with other fellow human beings are being subjected to your unsafe vehicle on the road.

NHTSA Safety Results - 2016 Jeep Wrangler.

Side impact crash - POOR

Rear Crash Protection/Head Restraint - MARGINAL

IIHS Small Overlap Front Test Results - MARGINAL

I'm surprised you can live with yourself with the danger you put your family in.

EDIT - Actually, you should drive a smartcar... that way you place your fellow human beings in the least amount of danger. The Volvo may cause too much damage to a Prius and hurt your fellow human being.

Now I understand how those stupid state inspections came to be.. He's the type of guy who would call a 90s pickup truck with a rust hole about the wheel well unsafe to be on the public roads because * his kid might stick his finger in it at Walmart * or some shit... Lol
