http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forum...body-rips.html
Over 90 FJ Cruisers have been having bent Frames, body panels and other random rips, after going on stuff as light as a gravel road.

And one guy claims he has broken 3 Rear Diffs, 1 Front diff and an Auto Tranny due to stress by running: 33" Tires! Toyota replaced em for free however.

And its not just modified rigs either, more than a 1/3 of them are bone stock.

I can add Xterra. After being denied a warranty repair for a defective rear diff I am pursuing a lawsuit, possibly class action now. Atleast Toyota is replacing stuff FOR NOW. But it wont be long before they start cutting there losses as well. Nissan claims my lift blew the diff after 2 wheeling trips with it....

I just dont get it. The Japanese are famous for strength and reliability, and now they seem to have abandoned that. All the while Jeep/ Chrysler is trying to improve.

Broken axles with 35-37s is a part of wheeling. Exploding diffs, busted frames, ect with stock tires is sickening.

Ok now is time to BASH HEK......I fell in love with the FJ TRD and came close on trading our '06 Odyssey for one, but could not find one anywhere.... so I test drove a 6 spd regular FJ with the wifey and she hated it ... , no back seat space for more tha one person and too many blind spots...anyway, I put a deposit on a TRD and waited but the wifey had spoken to our local dealer and askjed him to call us whne a Rubi was available for a test drive....we got the call and the rest is history....with my CO's discount I could get the Ruby at dealer's cost.... , so I figured with the difference I could make it work..(can you say chi ching)......anyway every now and then I see a FJ and the thought crosses my mind "if I had one"...but really I have the best of both Worlds...and the wifey loves it as well....she is a keeper.....and so is the JK....

You may be right. After owning 2 GMC work trucks with the 6.2 diesel, I swore never to buy American again in my life. But my attitude is sure changing thanks to Nissan and Toyota. Its funny, everyone panics over foreign car makers gaining ground or outsourcing.....But it seams things have a tendancy to turn around.....

lol, My GMC has a 6.2L diesel.

It has 400,000 Miles on the truck, and it got a new engine at 300,000.

Devils advocate, Like the Jk's don't have their own loooong list of problems?

Man, such insecurity here on this forum that other brand bashing is just ridiculous.

Every time I get into my Jk I wonder if the damn thing is gonna start or when is it gonna stall or leave me stranded? Chrysler product you know.

I chose the JK over the FJ cruiser because of the looks and the 4 doors. Plus I wanted to buy American this time. I knew I was probably going to have to give up reliablity and overall fit and finish quality.
Well the fit and finish quality is obviously less in the JK, now I'm just waiting for the stall to happen.
