Here is the latest, they are trying to make me pay more for the swing arm or return the whole thing costing me time and gas plus its a huge package and I only have a 2 door.

Hello,

Thanks for your email. We agree the part was not as described and have offered the missing part at a substantial discount to account for this. We apologize that due to the cost of the 5292 swing arm, we are unable to send it at no cost. We're sorry if this makes the item cost excessive and apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. We will be happy to pay return shipping and provide a full refund.

Thanks,

Summit Racing Sales

The whole point of jumping on this offer was it was a good deal and I had just the right amount of cash to purchase it.
If you state a product is sold for that price as a whole then It needs to be provided.
Ebay is very specific about the item received must match the auction write up. I even double checked with your salesman.
The swingarm and related parts need to be sent to me. I want the bumper but I want the entire bumper as promised, this is part of a build with a budget plan.

Brett

Subject: Ebay dispute about parts not received [Incident: 110125-001150]
Response (Jason) 01/25/2011 04:20 PM
Hello,

Thanks for your email. We are sorry the order did not include the swing arm as expected. After researching this product, it appears there is an error in our attributes and the swing arm is sold separately as part number 5292. The price of this additional part is $329.95. Due to our error, we could offer the additional part for $235.00 and ship it at no cost. This part would ship directly from Body Armor 4x4 so delivery would take about 7-10 business days. Or, we can send a pre-paid UPS return label that you can use to send back for a full refund. We're sorry for the inconvenience this has caused and please let us know how you would like to proceed.

Thanks,

OMG-Deja Vous, All over again GON WHLN! I just saw your note moments and your encounter sounded so familiar that I went to my view past emails on my back bumper problem. Yup, similar scenario, tho my retailer was a different. My saga:

"My deal" was from company X, and began in 2/3/10. Looking back, here's what happened:
I called company X on phone 2/3 and I told him that this was my First time to Order from his company; and with that - "he'd said he'd give me a Good price on it and Free shipping, too. Indeed - it wasa deal! He offered me a price of B/Aror bumper/swing tire carrier for $560.66.. said he could give me this if I ordered right away" - and as the young man said: " ..this is really a good deal that you're getting" ...( I guess things were slow, and they were trying to get some sales), even tho (company X's) advertised Full List Price states: $622.95 to $682.95. I paid only: $560.66

But on 2/5, I rec'd my first 'official emial from them' saying: " .. part of this is on B/O and would I like to Cancel my $560 order for this B/Armor bumper/swing carrier ? My Reply - "NO". {Side note : Did rec'd (partial) package, but due to the heavy amount of snow we got in next 2 weeks here, Ihad put it inside garage to 'install' on a nicer day.... had not inspected its full contents.

Sent weekly emails to them asking for UpDates on status of my order, yet -
On 3/6, opened my "arrived UPS package" and found Bumper & Hoop, for spare. Rec'd NO spindle or other needed hardware.

Wrote to them on 3/6 saying: "My Swing-A-Way Support Bracket, bumper stops & the package of D-rings were rec'd - so, ..."Where's the other 1/2 of the "package" that let's me, "Hang-n-Swing" the-tire..on its own frame "?

From them on 3/10:
"Thank you for your patience. I have gotten to the bottom of the issue. You did ask for a bumper with the tire carrier. Our website is a little vague about what comes with it and the agent also selected the wrong part number too. The one listed for $682.95 comes with a tire carrier to mount a larger tire to the back of your jeep and clear the bumper. The one for $622.95 does not come with it. The swing arm tire carrier requires an additional part. Part number 5292. This part typically costs $464.95. Because of the mistake and miscommunication. I can offer it to you for $122.29. This would bring your total up to $682.95. We are in the process of correcting the website to be more clear about what is included. I have an order saved for you for the swing arm. Order number "xxxx". If this solution will work for you please authorize payment for this order. If you would prefer to return the bumper we can accept the return instead but we need to know right away if you wish to return as the 30 day time frame is almost up.
- Further, they stated in same email :
"We are in the process of correcting the website to be more clear about what is included. I have an order saved for you for the swing arm. Order number "xxxx". If this solution will work for you please authorize payment for this order. If you would prefer to return the bumper we can accept the return instead but we need to know right away if you wish to return as the 30 day time frame is almost up."

I purposedly "gambled" on this time frame, and did not answer their request as promptly as they had wanted, I'm sure!

Finally, I did reply to them but it was on 4/8:
"First, You guys made the mistake -initially- with me and my order; and I quote 'You said...it was "NOT-a-very-clear Website description".
...Secondly, your firm told me that someone had selected a "wrong SKU number" and shipped only part-of-the order!
...Then, I was to pay more for it than what I was originally told, just to get the rest-of-my bumper from my original order, albeit, part of it was, B/Ordered. And now, some 10 Days after it was (supposedly) shipped, I still don't have the Rest-of-My Bumper!!....yet ,
...Your company has (ALL) my money and I have only part of my order! I hope your management realizes that is Not Good Customer Service...especially with a First Time buyer!! { Please pass this note onto them.}

Finally stating to them, "If this happened at my company, I'd fire the Customer Service Manager and Get that Darn Website, ReDone & CLARIFIED, so that all whom would consider purchasing an item (from you) would 'expect' that they would receive that exact item, complete, - in a timely manner.

Conclusion: An ordeal to say the least! I did get the rest of bumper & didn't pay anymore than 'originally quoted'. However, I have since rec'd 'a recall on - spindle" from Mfger. At least the Mfging company is doing their best in trying to keep "their customers, Happy". The Best of Good Luck, GON WHLN - I'll be reading more of your stories.
BTH - I Really DO like my B/Armor Bumper & Swing Carrier.

KY...

So your last email to them got your parts sent? I went nuts on them last night and am waiting for their response. Here is what I sent them:

"I'm sorry, This is unacceptable. Your trying to tell me that since your company can't get its sales straight that I am the loser in this!
Offering me to pay more for what was promised or to simply forget it all and return what i paid for with my time and gas is ridiculous.

Its simple, I did my part by double checking with Summit sales and you simply haven't fullfilled your end. I request you send me the swing arm that was promised to me through Ebay.

I am a prominent member of NOVAjeepers and JK-Forum. This info will be upsetting to the thousands of members who ask for purchasing recommendations. I will also open a case with Ebay about this discrepancy.

I am a man who stands by my post and my words on any deal I make, I wish your company would do the same."

Wow......this sounds like a bait and switch scam. I'm betting that if you pay their so called reduced price for the swing arm that you could have bought the entire package somewhere else and paid less. Bait and switch to con you into paying more. Send it back on their dime and leave negative feedback.

In the negative feedback, I would post something like "Bait and switch scam Email for details" and include your email in your feedback message so others who are interested in buying from these douche bags can email you directly and get the whole story.......or post a link with the story. You might have to get creative with abreviations since eBay limits the amount of letters in the feedback.

The "run around game" seems to happen everywhere you go now adays. Sure there are still many o company that value customers but they are becoming a dying breed. To get anything done, purchased or resolved, companies are making people jump through hoops. Hell even the company that owns our beloved Jeep brand does the same thing to a lot of their customers. Don't believe that then check out the thread WayOfLife went through with his Jeep and Chrysler. You'd think that this recession, companies would bend over backwards to make a customer happy so they'll keep coming back and spread the word to friends and relatives so they become customers.
It's a shame that you have to put up a fight for what should be right in the first place.
I wish you well with this and it gets resolved promptly.

Did you pay through PayPal? If you did...file a dispute with them as well. With going to Ebay and PayPal for this scam you can really do a good number in shutting them down. If not, then at least people wont be shopping with them

Yup, got ALL my parts. Took awhile, but in the end, it's COMPLETE! And it does LOOK great - both from afar & close up.
And an added plus: I may not have any Back-Up lights that I can 'Flash' a Tail-Gatter, but I sure wouldn't want to be in the car following my JK, And BIG "A## Good-Looking-Bumper,realizng what might happen to them if I had to brake, suddenly!

Good for you GON WHLN, in telling them about Your Word and what you'd wish they would do: Honor their word/commitment!
If I were them and had read your email, I'd make sure that YOU were a satisfied customer, wanting no-part of a Challenge from this customer and your ordeal!
