I have a pop up camper and it only ways 1500 lbs. I guess it depends on the model. The Palomino's are nice and light. You should look at those.

i think my tent weighs 10 pds or so

i'd say go alluminum, or look into one of those tents that go on a roof rack and fold open, they look pretty sweet
