Default Two Month Old 2010 JK + 8-Point Buck/Now with Pics

I went the back way to work this morning. I have one rule with that way, "If it is dark, don't go that way". I did it this one time only and managed to hit a 8-point buck.

He came from the left side and his head hit just below the drivers side headlight. He then went under the tire, was flung up and one hoof hit the hood just forward of the hinge. His tail end then took out the fender flair, fender and the drivers door. First estimate is about $2900.

I have pics of the deer from my cell phone. I'll get them up later. I still have to get pics of the Jeep.

Terrible way to start a day. Bad thing is this is the only week I have to go in at that time.

Sounds like you tenderized your next months worth of meat...

That always sucks. Atleast no major damages or injuries ( besides the deer)

Too bad I didn't find it when I first went back. I got back out there about 2 hours later and it had been out in the 90+ degree heat. When I went back by after work, someone had already cut the rack off.

Looks like I will be taking the freshly installed winch back off so the body shop can get the front grill off.

That sucks. However...think of it as an opportunity to take the insurance money and turn it into a new AEV hood!

damn, sorry to hear that. Im from California moved to Illinois and im still getting use to expect these beasts to cross the road. I was driving downhill, on a curve at 55mph, while it was pouring rain. A big ass doe started to cross in front of me, as if i wasnt there. I missed her by a hoof, then went sliding into a v-ditch. lucky for me the muddy v-ditch caught the impact. Hope your not injured, that would be the up side.

No injury. Glad for that.

On a positive note, the ESP worked great! Jeep kept straight and the wheels never locked up.

Hurts me to look at pics of damaged JKs...hopefully, you'll be able to get some mods and it'll look good as new.
