Apr 07 build X with 24S package and I've got neither.

 

1-07 build date and Ive got the mat, but no light or wiring.

 

i'm in the market for a new JK. i'm looking at the X model, 24S. the spec sheet from the website and the dealer lists NO hood insulation.

do i really need it?

is it pre-wired for the light?

wtf, i got 2008 X built in August, and i dont have the mat or the light. This is BS, i'm calling my dealer tomorrow.

 

The "X" does not come with the under hood insulation and I think only the very early JK's had the under hood light.
You can purchase the under hood insulation and the clips for about $100, but most here find it is not needed since it tends to catch dirt and water.

 

Wrong, i've seen X's with under hood insulation.

 

It's hard to say what determines who is getting the pad or not. Really it doesn't matter...all mine has become is a mud collector. I'll probably just throw it away at some point.

And as far as the lamp, I've seen/heard of very few that have them. There is a spot for one but it is not prewired for a hood light.

 

They may have been early "X's" from back when it was included as OE, or was added later by the owner.
Currently X's do not include hood insulation.
