WHat do you think? LOD Roof Rack (Patent pending)
your input is a ridiculous request of having them develop a custom tire carrier for less than 1% of the market. It's like you have no common sense at all.
Copied and pasted comments from LOD on the roof rack in the initial post. It has information how much weight it is able to carry/hold and other. Thanks for all your comments and ideas, much appreciated.
The rack seems to cover at least 80% of the top, so with the top down, and the rack up, it will still feel like 80% of the top is up. Will people spend more for an option they may almost never use? Am I making myself clear? The awning feature is cool though.
I don't like how this rack looks. It looks like a giant cheese grater on top og the jeep, lol. I like the Gobi racks, but I got an awesome deal on a Wild Boar rack when I bought the jeep. I just couldn't pass up a nearly new Wild Boar rack for a measley $80, lol. Love it!!
With so many right-angled parts and bends, I wonder how noisy it's going to be, vs roof racks made of round tubes.
I'd also expect it to have more air resistance than round pipes = worse mpg.
How about rattling of the "drawer" mechanism? After long-term use?
I really like the basic idea, but would prefer to see it frame-mounted, made of round tubes, and more aerodynamic.
I'd also expect it to have more air resistance than round pipes = worse mpg.
