Is the wheelbase too long?

You should have picked this shot from my gallery, it would have proven your point even better....:toung:

Dont get your panties in a wad, I was just messin around........ Like stated before, my opinion, which may be worth nothing at all, is that the 116" wheelbase is too long to wheel on alot of trails. If I was planning on not lifting a JK, I would probably get the 2 door because it would be more capable for the type of wheeling thats around where I live vs. getting the 4 door. When my TJ 93" WB was on 37"'s I still could get high centered on some of the trails I wheeled (even had a belly up skid plate). Alot of the time I could use attitude and momentum to get over these rocky area's but that led to more breaking and so on, which then led to 1 tons and 42's..........Guess it all depends on what you do with what you have and where you live. To each his own.

Obviously there are more things than wheelbase that come into play when wheeling, but thats not what the post was discussing. Im not comparing the TJ to the JK or the JK to any other vehicle. I love the new Unlimiteds and am buying one as soon as my TJ sells, but I will atleast have 37's on it. Maybe my idea of wheeling is different than yours.
When I think of wheeling, I think of this..........

So before you speak, make sure you get your facts straight and remember that I am your daddy.
Lets see - the OP asked simply if the 116" wheelbase was causing any problems offroad as it seemed like the breakover angle might be kind of low without a lift. You responded with dire warnings: "I would say that running a no lift unlimited would pretty much get hung up on just about any sort or rocks or ledges. Even 35's would still get hung up on most stuff, 116" is huge!"

My response was to point out that the JK breakover is not as bad as you might think with the longer wheelbase and is in fact very similar to the TJ Unlimited Rubi breakover. And there is plenty of evidence from people that have wheeled the JK Unlimited (whether to your standards or not) that they will NOT get hung up on just about any sort of rocks or ledges, even when stock.

Nuff said - I won't get into your childish pissing contest...
