Will the 2 door survive.
Just got my first jeep, 2 door Rubicon. Its a blast to drive on the street and trails. The kids, however, do complain everytime they have to crawl in the back. In hindsight if I had the extra money I may have gotten a four door. For now too bad for them cuase I love this thing.
Down here in south Florida around the military base, 2 door JKs are the majority. Considering how many military installations we have throughout the country, I'd imagine that's a lot of niche 2door jeeps running around. 4doors are doing very well but 2door soft tops aren't hard to spot down here either.
Like Lui said, on the four bases around me, all have a large amount of 2drs. My base is small and has 1 4dr, and 5 2drs. I just went on a boat with another unit and almost the whole engineering department has 2drs.
Now I'm not a serious off roader but to go along with the point jeeps are becoming more and more "driver friendly " better road manners and mpg and interior options which I understand because the 4 door reached to marked for family's and what not but I feel like that simple and basic design that well I love about the jeep is fading and I would hate to see it become like evey other SUVs today that are futuristic and a computer on wheels I know they need to change with the times but you have to know ur roots and where u came from with that said I hope they don't kick the 2 door or 4 door
They will never do it. I have a 4 door and a 4 door pickup because I have a family of 4. The 4 door pickup out sells the 2 door. And they will never get rid of the two door truck ether. It fits a niche, just like the 4 door does.
The 4 door brought out the false breed of jeeper. The type of person thats like "oh look honey, it has four doors like a hummer so I want one". They are the breed that doesn't wave or understand the true love of a jeep wrangler . I'm not talking crap about all the four door true jeepers, just what the concept appealed to from the beginning .
