Well - I waited too long, trying to get the best deal, and I still don't have a Jeep. Thought they would deal, but I guess I was expecting them to give a Jeep away. Had some good offers but thought I could do better. I hosed myself and will have to wait until later this year.

Just goes to show that if you get a decent deal, take it. Don't always assume the next dealer will beat it.

Incentives ended yesterday. Any one heard about new incentives yet? I heard Monday but don't know if they will be more or less.

Alright you guys, I thought I'd report what I found after beating the bush for the past three weeks. Keep in mind that not only was I looking for the best deal but I was also looking for a fairly specific JK, '08 auto Steel Blue Rubicon, so my available inventory was extremely limited. I spent hours on Jeep.com using the "Search New Inventory" feature locating the available inventory in most all of the western U.S. including Utah, California, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, Colorado and even Texas.

After locating a dealership with available inventory I would call and try to talk directly with either their Manager or the Fleet/Internet Sales. I found that very few were willing to discount any deeper than the $2,000.00 '08 rebate, and even some of those would only take it off of MSRP. So on average I was finding anywhere from $2-3,000 off of sticker. Not to bad considering most of my buddies were paying over sticker just to get their hands on a Rubi about a year ago.

I also chased a few of the ads and rumors of dealers providing deeper discounts in the neighborhood of $8,000. Most ended up being somewhat misleading requiring AARP membership, Walmart employment and even in some cases Jeep employment. But in the end persistence paid off and I was able to find exactly what I wanted for an incredible price. A fully loaded Rubicon for $5,600 off of sticker. It would've been more but the dealer had to exchange with a dealer in another state and shipping ended up being $400.

I talked to more than fifteen dealerships and in the end I only found two that I'd be willing to buy from. Both were extremely professional, very upfront and honest about their pricing and discounts, and both were willing to exchange with other dealers to get the JK i wanted. Talk about having your cake and eating too! I'm going in tomorrow to finalize the deal and the dealer has promised the price will drop if rebates deepen with the new incentives. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I think you've probably missed out on some of the best prices that were out there. Motivated dealers priced their old inventory to move. And with production slowed a bit to be a little better matched with demand I don't think you will see the prices go much, if any, lower.

Don't get me wrong, there are still some good deals out there, even on 09 Rubicons.

You should be able to get approx $7,000 of an 09 Rubicon without being a Walmart/Jeep/Dealership Employee. They were running special employee pricing through December 28th. Not sure if they extended it though. It was and additional $3,000 off for a 4D Rubicon I believe.

That price is good in the Atlanta area at least.

I got mine at $5600 off of MSRP and I don't belong to any special groups. Mine was a 2dr '08 X.

The Jeep dealer of Repentigny City (Quebec) gives you a brand new Dodge Caliber if you buy a Chrysler 300. NO JOKE! This is the truth!

I bought my Rubicon Unlimited 36000$ CAN + txs last year. The same one today is 6000$ cheaper

Hey everyone, I have been in the market myself trying to find a spec'd out 2008 myself for a good deal. Anyhow, I ran acros this one that is advertising a nice Rubicon with $5200.00 kicked off of it. I would probably jump if it wasnt an automatic.

I would love to find a six speed unlimited rubi red rock or steel blue at a great deal like this

Anyways, thought I would share none the less. Check about half way down.

Happy hunting everyone.

Just a heads up for those of you in the market, there is now a customer loyalty rebate of up to $1000 on top of the current incentives. It's on the front page of the Jeep website on the bottom left.

These guys that are saying 7000 off an 09, I don't know if I believe it. Maybe it's specific to an area, but here, the best I could do on an 09 is invoice minus 250 minus rebates, which for me comes to around 4800 off sticker. I did have 5600 off an 08, but that included the 2k from Jeep. It was a soft top though and no power locks/windows.

Good Luck. I'm hoping to finalize a deal next week.
