your jeeps 3.8L - like it or hate it ?
first off ,,, i really truly am happy with my jeep overall( 08 rubi unlimited). the designers did a super job with everything from top to bottom and is way ahead of any other jeep built( i've owned 20+ jeeps from 46 cj2a's to the new 08 rubi) but the lack of any low rpm hp and torque kills me. this thing they slapped a 3.8L label on is dead until you get over 3500 rpm. i guess from all the years of driving a cj-5 with the dauntless , wranglers with the 4.0L ,and a diesel libby i've been driving 99% of the time below 2800 rpm's .. now i know someone can find a better engine ( maybe a v-6 diesel) for next years jk ... anyone else agree

It's satisfactory which is why I voted "bacon". I like it and don't need anything more, but I wouldn't say I love it. I do love the V8 in our family Explorer though.

In my new '09 Rubi with a 6-spd It isn't as slow as I thought it would be on acceleration, although it is still slow. My issue is driving at 70 MPH on the highway. Reaching even small grades in 6th gear with it floored it can't even keep the set speed.

I don't really "HATE" it. But there was no choice for
"It's just ok but could use a LOT of improvements"
Just the lack of controll of it is what I can not stand.
With the poor engine braking, and serious lack of throttle response being my 2 major gripes.
I know both thes issues could be resolved with software updates if they were available.
And if "BACON" means HEMI well then it's a no brainer I vote Bacon. ... a 5.7L HEMI with MDS and a 6 speed manual would get better MPG than the 3.8L does.
