It looks like you made a commercial. Great job, you hit most of it and definately some of the nicest. More people will head this way because of you. NICE!

Thanks . A couple of the spots we skipped (other than a ton of trails obviously) was Vail, Aspen and Gunnison. Guess you have to leave something for the future , but we covered about 80% of what we planned - the place leaves you wanting more!

Looks like an epic Colorado vacation. Glad you made it with no breakage.

I just did Tincup Pass to St. Elmo yesterday. Did you take the "old Tincup" route near the top (shorter in distance but more difficult). I tried, but had to turn around as we were by ourselves and there were no other Jeeps around if we got into a bind

That looks like an awesome trip. I'm not real familiar with Colorado. What was your route through this adventure? Looks like something I need to put on my list to do.

Our plan was to do St. Elmo to Tincup to Pitkin to Alpine Tunnel and back up Hancock Pass to St. Elmo. But since Hancock pass was closed, I didn't want to do the trail both directions, especially being by ourselves. Plus, when we got to St. Elmo, it was almost 2:30pm, so the trip to Tincup by itself would take a couple of hours. Plan on doing it our next trip there. Depending on how the JK's equipped by then, and if we are with a group, I'd definitely want to try the "Old Tincup".

This was our first trip and visit to Colorado - a couple of local forum members helped me out with planning the trip and pointing out the key places.

The route we took was from Lawton, OK - Amarillo - Santa Fe - Pagosa Springs - Alamosa - Pagosa Springs - Durango - Silverton - Ouray - Montrose - Black Canyon of the Gunnisons - Montrose - Grand Junction - Rangely - Dinosaur - Steamboat Springs - Hot Sulphur Springs - Rocky Mountain National Park (Trail Ridge Road) - Estes Park - Central City - Black Hawk - Silver plume - Silverthorne - Leadville - Buena Vista - Nathrop - Salida - Cotopaxi - Canon City - Colorado Springs - Pueblo - back home to Oklahoma.

Weren't those elk up in RMNP?

You had quite an amazing trip. I've been coming to Colorado with family for 25 years, and living here for 10, and I still haven't done all of that (mostly missing the dinosaur national monument stuff, and the dunes). Well done.
