Looks like you'll have a wonderful trip 
. We'll be there again this year in July - for about 3 - 4 days in Ouray/Salida area. Can't wait 
If you do go to St. Elmo, be sure to take a decent size packet of sunflower seeds (unshelled). You'll have a ball with the chipmunks - it's just amazing how they'll climb all over you and even more funny to see them take the sunflower seed from your hand, shell it, eat the seed and give you the shell back 
Thanks for the pictures and particularly the inspiration. I was thinking about a trip when I have my 10 day vacation the last week of September. Then I saw this thread, and I'm already making plans, picking up camping supplies, Researching and getting a set of radial tires seeing as my bias would melt going that far
