Yes, the view is from the Island in the Sky looking down at the White Rim Trail and Canyonlands National Park. We went up Potash Rd. and the Shafer switchbacks and back down Long Canyon.

Default Last chance gas question

I was told that there was a gas station near Island in the Sky on the road. It's supposed to be a good place to fill up before going into Canyonlands. Can anyone confirm?

There are no gas stations near Island in the Sky or inside Canyonlands National Park. I believe the nearest one is just north of the intersection of Hwy 191 and Hwy 313. It's a good idea to take extra gas (and at least one other vehicle) if you intend to do the complete White Rim Trail. It's about 120 miles off road not including any side trips. Plan on a very long day or camp and make two days out of it. This is one of the most scenic areas around Moab and is highly recommended.
