I got challanged by a Hummer today.
What we have here.....are people that don't live here, trying to tell us that we should not be wheeling our trucks.
They form an "alliance" and fund lawyers to file suits to close trails in our backyards. They won't even bother to visit many of these areas themselves......they couldn't if they tried.......because you can't carry enough water to last out there on foot.
This is some of the best wheeling in the country and brings revenue to the local community. The 4x4's and mountain bikes, ATV's and motorcycles all share the trails they are trying to close.

drop a nuke!! Just a thought.....
I'm not being d*ck, just venting.........
I dislike Hummers. Mainly, because the usual Hummer driver in my neck of the woods is a yuppy who decided to play soldier... or worse, a soccer-mom who uses her hulking baby Hummer to fetch groceries or pick little Bentley Jr. or Princess Tinkerfluff up from practice.
If we want to hear someone extol the virtues of Hummers for us, I'm sure we're all very capable of finding a Hummer forum. Coming on a Jeep forum and acting like a Hummer fanboy is not going to win you any friends over here - sorry, that's just the way it is.

i'll say that there are more videos of rich wankers in H2's and H1's getting their "unstoppable" rigs stuck in basic sand and mud, or high center it on a basic hill climb, mainly cause they have more money then sense. Not to mention that the H2 and H3 are not much more capable then a tahoe or a trailblazer off the beaten path... the only hummer i ever will respect (until they surpass their own ability) is the Humvee with a turbo diesel. The rest are made for gullible money having consumers that want to "appear" to be that big outdoorsy person.

Yeah, they've sued each other a couple times.
Jeep sued over the seven slot grill.....Hummer sued Jeep over the new squared look to the Jeep line-up.
They both lost.
The two companies are distant cousins anyway. They are both American made 4x4's.
I understand the whole Ford-Chevy thing going on.....but if you wheel a Hummer.......you have no choice but to get along with the Heepers.
A lot of Hummer guys feel the same way about Jeeps, that many here feel about Hummers. I don't. If I didn't have three kids I might buy one of these JK's. I know several people that have traded Hummers for JK's.
I just don't like all the disinformation out there......many Jeepers really don't know that Hummers can actually wheel.
Being a Hummer guy.......I get the most hate directed at my rig from two main groups, environmental whacko's and Jeepers.
The environmentals crack me up because they don't even understand most of their own arguments and are mostly just sheep following the herd......but Jeepers surprise me....if it's just a brand thing and preference - cool. Sometimes it's not though, and we share so much in common out on the trails.
What difference does it make what someone else wheels? Most of the arguments the greenies put out are as true for other 4x4's as they are for Hummers.
I realize that some of my fellow Hummer drivers probably have as much to do with the negatives as the vehicle does........but we are not all like that, as a matter of fact.....most Hummer owners that really wheel their rigs, like Jeeps.

I remember when both, my friends TJ and my JK got stuck in mud trying to pull each other out, and all we had left was a "wimpy" Jeep Willies. Thank God to the Bronco that was passing us, and helped us out.

I'd pit a stock M37 against a stock H1 any day of the week.
furrther more, if we do that we will lose everything we have been fighting and dying for.
interesting how many different discussions are going on in this thread...impressive! haha
