Minimum Recommend Mods to run the Rubicon??
My goal is to run the Rubicon Trail in the next couple of years. I know a stocker is supposed to be capable of making it, but I suspect it would be with damage to numerous components. If I wanted to take a DD Jeep over the trail, what would be the Minimum Recommended Modifications for such a run that would result in minimal, if any, damage? Assuming I have quality spotters, of course.
My initial guess would be something like this:
2.5 - 3" lift
35" tires
stubby bumper
rock sliders/rails
additional skid plates underneath
Relocated muffler under cab
What are your thoughts?

Would the minimum be to have the DD equipped to the equivalent of a JK Rubicon? Found this link in Google searching for STOCK WRANGLER ON RUBICON TRAIL.

I ran it this summer on 2.5 bb and 35s. In a 4 door you will use your sliders a lot. Must have sliders, you don't need lockers. Need front and rear tow hooks. It's not as tough as its made to be.

It seems like it was just last week when we were running Holy Jim. You give me hope to run the rubicon.
I thought it took a lot more

Every jeep should have front and rear recovery points, but besides that, are you saying they're specifically required for the Rubicon because people get stuck a lot?

The original list I offered above should probably have included the body armor above the rockers. Even though I already have rock rails, I'm incline to think a little extra protection might be in order, especially if I won't running a 3+" lift.
