Look in the owner's manual and you will see something like this for using the jack:

If the Spare has to be included in Rotation, the spare should always be mounted on the right rear per the nature of rear wheel and four wheel drives....

Default What is the best way to rotate the tires on a Jeep 4 x 4?

What is the best way to rotate the tires on a Jeep 4 x 4?

Answer:
Front to rear. Don't include the spare in the rotation. Because modern radial tires get a directional "set" (and often have directional treads on traction tires as well) the tires want to continue spinning the direction they always have. If hard cornering has over-worn the outside edges of the front tires, they can be swapped, but that will require taking them off the rims and re-mounting them. To rotate them to the other side would spin them backward and not only reduce their life drastically, but cause their thus-shortened life to end with a bang rather than a whimper.

To cross rotate a direction tyre you need to remove it from the rim and then turn it around.

After doing that a few times (5000km swap) you have paid the price of a new tyre anyway.

Directional tyres, leave the spare where it is and only do front to back swapping.

The later JKs show it on the front tubes. I have been usning a block of wood on the cup of my floor jack at the locations shown for the front axle. I have not had a problem with it.

true directional tires will have an arrow on the sidewall to indicate the proper direction.

That is from the Tire Manufacture, and Radials with a Directional tread are old facts........

These are not opinions of mine, they are Facts from the people who do this everyday and engineer the tire and pretty much common sense not to redirect tread, because they all say if rotated then remount them in right directions....

Definitions: so it does make you ask yourself if designed in a certain direction as define in Direction Tread, why would you lower the abilities of that design, when that all performances of that design are what a Wrangler needs for Fun, Safety and just driving...

Directional tireDirectional designs are recognized by the grooves in the tread that swipe away in a backward angle from the center of the tread face and rotate in only one direction. A direction of rotation arrow is located on both sidewalls of the tire. Directional tires enhance straight-line acceleration, provide maximum dry traction, better wet performance which helps to reduce rolling resistance as well as providing shorter stopping distances. See
Directional treadAn arrangement of bars, grooves, and ribs on a tire's tread in any manner that gives most effective traction when the tire revolves in only one direction.

Automotive Dictionary - 'DI'

Modified Cross Rotation
The "Modified Cross Pattern" provides the best results and can be performed on any Front or Rear Wheel Drive vehicle equipped with 4 non-directional tires. (directional tires must be rotated front to rear only.)
NOTE:
* Free rolling axle tires are crossed and installed to the drive axle, while the drive axle tires are brought straight to the free rolling axle (without crossing).
* Make sure you maintain vehicle manufacturers inflation recommendations after rotating tires.
* Directional treads are designed to perform in the direction denoted on the tire sidewall only. They must always be rotated front to rear - despite the type of vehicle they are installed on - so the direction of the revolution does not change.

Straight Rotation
Straight Rotation was developed in the early years of radial tires. This rotation method simply replaces the front to rear and rear to front and is used for directional tread patterns.

5 Tire Rotation
If the vehicle owner has a regular tire as a spare tire and wishes to include it in the tire rotation process, the proper procedure is to use the appropriate rotation pattern shown for 4 Tire Rotation, BUT insert the spare in the right rear position. Place the tire which would have gone to the right rear in the trunk as the new spare.

Note: Never include a temporary spare tire in the rotation.
Note: directional tread patterns must be rotated front-to-rear only so the direction of the revolution does not change.
