New tires
Hello,
Just added some new Destination XT tires to my 2008 JK Jeep Sahara. Replaced original tires keeping the 18 inch rims. Although new tires to “beef up” are now 265/70R18 and wider. Notice when turning steering wheel either all the way right or left rubbing a bit. To avoid this issue is it recommended adding a leveling kit or a basic lift kit? Really want to keep the tires for the looks, any advice greatly appreciated….Koni

Where is the rubbing? I'm guessing you're talking on the frame rail at the rear of the tire and maybe sway bar at the front? You might see if adding a couple washers to the steering stops might help. Obviously, that limits the steering just a bit but it's not a big deal.

Yes, only notice on the front sway bar. Unclear on washers on steering. Is that easy to do, or agin recommended a level kit? Thanks for the advice.

You can simply remove this with a socket wrench and you put 2 or 3 washers in there and put it back. It just limits your steering range the slightest bit. That might be enough to prevent the rubbing without having to add leveling pucks on top of the springs. It only takes a minute and maybe $1 to pop some washers in so might be worth trying in your situation.

That nut is on there at a predetermined length and can't be moved so it's just pop a couple washers in there as the easy fix.
