Had to the same setup on my 2010, with no issues, it's a cheap solution to a real problem, that vgullotta mentioned.

Whoa, I never saw this reply. That is an awesome product. Will it hold a 35" tire without any issues? I'm interested in ripping off the spare tire carrier part of my bumper as it sings away all sloppy now and the handle/latch setup is crappy (Smittybilt SRC w/ tire carrier). Have had this tire carrier for like 7 or 8 years now, and it holds well, but I have hated the operation of the swing away since day 1. It's almost impossible to line up just right so the operation is smooth, and I've always wanted to go back to just using the rear door instead of swinging away the tire and then opening the rear door. After a bunch of years, it's pretty annoying lol. Thanks!
