The door comes apart a little easier than your method. Note the two dimpled areas at the bottom of the inner panel. Cut those out and adjust window to align the bottom of the window bracket to the holes. press the retainers on the bottom of the glass with a straight screw driver and pull the window up out of the regulator bracket. Now the inner panel can be removed from the latch bracket and completely removed to access the latch. When you are done slide the glass down into regulator and it will lock into place. Tape over the holes.

I don't know how to upload pictures so please click on the attachments. I placed arrows on your pics. The first pic shows where to cut at the dimples the plastic is very thin in this area as it is designed to be cut. after you cut them out adjust the bottom of glass to be accessed threw the holes. click second pic. I placed arrows where the retainers are. Press the retainer with a srew driver and pull the glass up and out of the regulator. In your pic. the bright white part attached to the glass is part of the regulator you can see the off white retainer clips where I placed the arrows. It took Me a while to do the first one but each of the rest only took about ten minutes to dissassemble

Hey Derby, thanks, that looks much easier!

James, did you get the cheapie lock kits on EBay? Like $30 shipped?? I can't imagine them holding up well, but ordered 'em anyhow. Should be here in a day or 2. I'm also tempted by the $59 power window kits. Anyone tried them???? I have a 4 door, but would prob'ly just do the front windows.

I'm looking forward to the p-w install pics. Especially the critique afterwards. Mostly, how noisey!!

Holy crap! when i installed my door locks a while back i was slipping something down the window to actually release the sheet of class from the plastic retainer. I almost broke a lot of stuff this way, today i took the door apart as i'm in the middle of adding power windows and used this method, and its SOOO much easier this way. I just remember thinking that i had to be doing something wrong, that it couldn't possibly be this difficult to get the door apart... and what do you know, i was doing something wrong, lol.

I have the 30 dollar ebay lock kit, its been used and abused and is holding up great. The remotes are a little cheap though, as mine has the keyless entry too. I'm working on the windows... My advice, don't buy the cable drive kind, they aren't working out for me. but the ebay lock kit. feel free to buy it now. Stay tuned, i'll be doing a write up on the windows within a week or two once i figure out what kit will work and get it installed.

James 76,

Why are the relays needed? Do your locks have remotes, and a controller box? Or, are you just using switches?
