Default Back-Up Camera

I finally installed the backup cameras I bought a year ago. I am using the Garmin 7200 for the monitor and I installed an auto sensing switch to switch between the DVD, rear camera, and the remote camera. I use switches to control the power to the cameras, therefore selecting which video input to display.

Here is the camera mounted in the center of the spare tire mount:

This is the the "remote camera" that I can mount anywhere I need a video feed. It is on a suction cup mount.

Added newer pic of video:

Looks good and the remote camera is out of this world!

That's an awesome idea when hitting the trails, mount it in the front somewhere and you could almost be you own spotter.

That looks awsome. It's about damn time you got that thing mounted. I guess you are coming down to Shreveport anymore?

Yeah man... I took another position and moved on to a Disaster Recovery role, so I don't manage the Shreveport team anymore. I might be down there sometime running an DR exercise... if so, I'll come on by!

the remote camera you have looks like its wired. That could be hard to place it "anywhere" if it is. I was thinking the same thing but was going to pick up one of the wireless cameras for that function.

did you have the problem with 7200 not recognizing when the auto-switcher changed inputs? because its always transmiting a video feed?

That is why I have a switch to toggle the power... so it is not always transmitting. The cables are 20ft long. I can just about put it anywhere... but a wireless camera sounds like a better option.

Ya i'm going to have a toggle to the autoswitcher power as well. i might have to rethink how i have my switches, i'm at 6 already.

I have to wait for the snow and freezing weather to stop before i do my next install. I have to finish my CB and camera.
Nice job on the back camera though. clean placement. I dont think that location will work for me. Right now i have it instaled in a hitch attachment but i might redo that and put it directly in the rear bumper.
