I just wrapped hockey stick tape around the pin and I also put some on the D-RING where it touches the bumper so it wouldn't make noise there. Once it fades in the sun you can't even tell there is tape on it.

I may do this mod as well since I'm a plumber and have tons of those washers at may disposal.
I did this to my YJ's shackles. When you use the shackles, you will have to redip them. The rubber stuff will come off. Just an FYI...

Just my two cents, but I just put on the ballcock shank washers after using an exacto knife to trim off about 1/8 inch. They work great to stop the clank. No way they'll move unless you force them. And they look great as well. It looks like they were made for this purpose. Definitely worth the $10 and super easy to do.

Ooooo I may take the price sticker off so they have to do a price check. " Price check Ballcock shank washer...Price check Ballcock shank washer"

Picture the face of a Home Depot Employee if you walk in to the store and say...

"The Shackles on my Bumper make too much noise when going Up, Down and Side-to-Side.
I read I can stop this if I get my Bumper "Ballcocked and Shanked". Can you help?"

Even funnier... Picture the epression on "Your face" when you notice the employees name tag reads "Tree-Trunk Joe" in rainbow colors and he gives you a wink.
