Default Priceless!!!!!!

Just went to the local hardware store (just happens to be called Gay's...go figure) I asked the guy at the plumbing counter for the Ballcock Shank washers and his face was absolutely priceless....He was like I have NO idea what you're talking about...turns out they did have them but they're just called shank washers.....

To make things worse I then asked if they carried quick fist clamps (so I could do the rear door shovel mount mod)....he must have thought I was crazy.

I did this simple mod today and man does it work.... I shaved the ballcock washers ($0.79 ea. at the local hardware store) a bit and then squeezed them in place....the shackles don't even move let alone clank off the bumper.

Great mod!

I guess Gay's True Value didn't hook you up? Where did you find them? I went to Lowes and got the same face you must have!

Great tip, but now that I've got d-ring mounts and shackles I found they don't clank or rattle at all.

I have a Flame Red JK, so I used the red plasti dip, but I had to thin it out with naptha in order for it to evenly coat the shakles. I put two coats on them and they are holding up great, along with matching my JK. I just may use the ballcock shank washer on them as well.

I did something similar, using 3/4" ID hole grommets on either side of the bumper boss.
The ballcock shank washer is pretty ingenious, though.

I added these a couple weeks ago and they are a perfect fit. If I didn't know any better I would have thought they were made for this purpose.

Maybe shackle shank washers would be a good name:-)
