Front Speaker Install Write-Up
Sorry, I should have had more detail of what my setup is. I do have the 7 speaker Infinity system from the factory. I'm just upgrading the speakers.
I just wanted to know if I should use the crossover that came with the new speakers? Or, it seems to me there would have to be a stock crossover with the factory 7 speaker system, should I just switch out the speakers and be good to go.
Would I have to worry about distortion, or blowing the tweeters and/or woofers by not installing the included crossover.
Thanks for any responses.

I had the infinity system too. I just switched the speakers out and was good to go. I am however, getting a lot of rattle from the front speakers. Now, I gotta go back and check if anything is loose and buy some poly fill.
I replaced my speakers using the removal tips from this thread and thanks, it saved me a lot of time. I replaced my tweeters with the ones that they sell at Quadratech. They come with a crossover and sound great. I replaced the lower dash with 62.9I Infinitys and they too came with a crossover. I replaced the rears with 6022I Infinity.
I have the stock system and had terrible vibration from the speakers. I tried the dynomat and polyfil on both the sound bar and lower fronts. The dynomat helped significantly in the rear. Not so much up front. The trick I came up with to elimnate the distortion up front was to drill a two inch hole in the speaker box. Removed the polyfil, left the dynomat on the inside of the box and zip tied the crossover to the inside of the box.
What a difference.

Holy crap!
I just spent the morning installing the Polk 651S speakers (that I've been staring at for a week
) in the front and the sound bar
What a difference! The sound bar came to life far beyond my expections. The whole thing sounds amazing. Thanks for the great write up!
(yes I have the Infinity sys. BTW)
I started with the drivers side front to get the ugly part out of the way first. It was the little 7mm behind the tweeter that gave the lower plastic that extra quarter or an inch to coax the box out. The rest was easy-peazy.
When I first read some of the treads about stuffing poly-fill into the sound bar I thought you all were a bit nuts. You see, I don't make quilts or stuffed teddies. But I have done home reno's. I thought you guys were talking about the wall repair compound 'poly-filla'
I though to myself, "How the hell are you gonna scoop several buckets of wall-mud into the damn sound bar
"
Ding! Light goes on...

Doh!

Just wanted to say thanks for the write-up
I'm not an audiophile by any means, but I wanted to upgrade my speakers. I was able to get four 6 1/2's for under $100.
Kenwood KFC 1682ie - 3 way speakers in the roll bar
Kenwood KFC 1662s - 2 way speakers in the front dash (which b/c of this wasn't that bad of an install!)
I run with the doors off and either a bikini combo or no top at all and the speakers upgrade made a very nice difference.
This forum is sweeeet

thanks for the write up, i plan on having this done on tuesday and i went to the audio shop today so they could see what they would need to do. we test fitted a vibe black air 6.5 in the soundbar but it looks like were gonna have to make custom brackets as the mounting holes are way different. he said that that wasnt a problem and he would make an mdf ring/bracket to mount them.
what do you guys do? Is there a bracket that you buy, cuz no one has mentioned about this in theis thread. any pics of your soundbar speakers installed??
also do the holes for the front box work or will another bracket need to be made???
thanks in advance.

They actually sent me enough harnessessesesesss and plates to do two JKs front and rear

That's excuse enough to trade the GF's Rav4 for a JK!
I have the part #'s if you need them..
The Crutchfield wiring harness and adapter plates
I just trimmed a bit off of one tab on each, extended one whole and was good to go. Soooo worth it.
