Grill Mod
I did not try plastic. maybe heat the plastic with a hair dryer or hot air gun before trying to form it over.
The big pieces some are using would need the tabs for sure.

They really dont unscrew... best method is to take a drywall screw and hand turn it into the top that looks like it should be a philips head untill the threads of the screw bite. Then just pull staright up. You can then pull the other part out with some type of blade or even your finger nails.
There was a thread on here somewhere that says to screw a small wood screw into the head and reuse it for each one..i guess screw it in and pull it out ,repeat.... but i'll stick with the prying and monkeying around for now
Ok i did the mod a couple of months ago with a sheet of black plastic..got bored ordered more and painted to match......
Before

After ( painted with Duplicolor truck paint - pewter (didnt want to wait for the dealer to order a can of graystone and pay 3x the price) first primed with plastic primer , painted and finished with a couple coats of krylon clearcoat)

10X better IMO .. What u guys think?

A cheaper source for expanded metal would be a screen door protector.
I picked mine up for $12 at Menards. Much stiffer than gutter cover.
4-way ziptie anchors were $1.73 for 5 in the electrical section. They fit perfectly between the slots without trimming.
Pardon the dirty grille. I was deer hunting the past 4 days.
I like the contrast of polished aluminum against black. No painting planned.

Heres my aluminum 12 dollar gutter guard(Lowe's) installed with a hot glue gun applied to the edges of the formed individual screens directly to the back of the grill(no zip ties or block mounts). real strong and holding up great in over a 100 degree heat for a couple of months in a row in the summer and still going strong.
