Thanks, it should be the same. I'm pondering the same thing, as they are far from water proof. Ive thought about using an expanding foam pumped into the box, but it being flamable I dont know if it would work out.

That and I would worry about those contacts getting to hot.

I went a different route on my CJ. I put the solenoid pack under the dash and put the control plug in the dash. Also hard wired a control switch and kill switch next to it. Worked out well. It was a pain to run 2 gauge cable into the cab but was worth it in the end. Kept the solenoids dry.

Good Idea I like having access to the remote up front. I could still move it and just mount the remote socket some where else.

That CJ saw a lot of mud and deep water. Put the ignition under there also. Being a CJ, there wasn't anything else. Well, the fuses also.

Default Why would you want the power for the winch inside only?!

So let me get this straight... if you do ever roll, and you are hanging upside down in your seat belt, you want to get out, hook up your winch, then get back into your vehicle and try to pull it right side up... while inside the vehicle... with the ignition turned on?
LOL
No thanks!

?????

I don't wish roll over on anybody but if it happens, it would be rare to use your own winch to pull yourself back over. Others would be involved in the recovery.

Also, quality in cab winch controls don't disable the use of the plug in controller, this particular install mentions that as well.
