Also, quality in cab winch controls don't disable the use of the plug in controller, this particular install mentions that as well.

That is a sweet idea. For some reason, the first time I looked thru the install I missed the fact that you just tapped off of the remote hand held solenoid wires and then ran "additional" controls for the same functions into the cab.

Nice work dude!

Great write up, I bought a wiring harness from 12voltguy.com. I made it a real breeze.

I saw this and thought it was a great idea, but I figured I'd do it a little different. I just started tonight and mounted my remote directly to the shifter. I still need to do all the wiring and or a second remote for operation outside the vehicle. Plus a pressure switch by the trigger finger to power the in and switch.

I can see why you'd think that. Right now it is not hooked up so there is no chance of that happening. Before I do hook it up I'm going to add a momentary push button switch. So if your not pushing the button and the in/out switch it will not operate.
